This tome contains information regarding Legendary Levels.
================
Legendary Levels are a mechanism by which your character continues to increase in power after level 40. They are NOT normal levels, and they only affect some of your character's attributes. The ONLY effects that they have are listed below.
---------
Skills:
Characters gain their normal allotment of skill points for every legendary level, including a +1 bonus for humans and any intelligence bonuses. They spend them in the usual manner, with class skills costing one point and cross-class skills costing 2 points. Points may be saved from level to level, if desired.
Feats:
Characters continue to gain a general feat every three levels, beginning at level 42, 3 levels after the last received at level 39.
Ability Points:
Characters gain ability points at an accelerated rate during legendary levels, receiving an additional ability point every 2 levels, beginning at level 42. Points from nonlegendary levels carry over into legendary levels.
Attack Bonus:
Characters receive a simulated increase to attack bonus in legendary levels. This is implemented by granting characters 20 additional BAB at level 40, and then placing a -20 AB penalty on them. The penalty will decrease as you gain legendary levels. Depending on your character's control class, you will gain AB in one of three progressions:
Tier 1: Barbarian, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Blackguard, Champion of Torm, Dwarven Defender, Weapon Master
AB increases at level 42, 43, 44, 46, 47, 48, 50, 51, 52, 54, 55, 56, 58, 59, and 60, for a total of +15 BAB at level 60.
Tier 2: Bard, Cleric, Druid, Rogue, Assassin, Red Dragon Disciple, Shadowdancer, Shifter
AB increases at level 41, 43, 45, 47, 49, 50, 51, 53, 55, 57, 59, and 60, for a total of +12 BAB at level 60.
Tier 3: All other classes
AB increases at level 44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, and 60, for a total of +9 BAB at level 60.
Saving Throws:
Character saving throws increase during legendary levels, but at a slower pace than before. A character gains +1 to all saving throws every 4 levels, beginning at level 44.
Hit Points:
Characters automatically gain the maximum hitpoints for their class, including a bonus for the toughness feat and any constitution bonuses.
Casterlevel:
Legendary levels count as casterlevels, increasing the power of spells.
Spell Penetration:
Legendary levels count as levels for the purpose of calculating spell penetration to overcome monster sr.
Item Level Restrictions:
There are items that only a character with a certain number of legendary levels may use.
---------
You'll notice that several of these attributes are dependant on the character's 'class'. Legendary levels are not considered to be standard levels in a standard class. You cannot, for instance, use them to fulfill level requirements for feats, spells, abilities, and so on; those must all be met by level 40. Legendary levels are, however, influenced by the character's 'Control Class'. It is the Control Class that determines how many hit points and skill points the character receives for Legendary Levels, the availability of feats and skills, and whether legendary levels count towards casterlevel of a given spell. So how is the Control Class determined? Quite simply, it is the class in which the character has the most levels. If two classes tie for having the most, the class the character took first will be the control class.
So what feats and skills will be available?
-The Legendary Level system uses standard NWN rules to determine the availability of skills and feats, treating the character as if they were taking a level in that character's Control Class. Devastating Critical is still disabled, and a number of spell feats were added to the Palmaster's class feats to reflect their increased casting power (and the fact that their being missing appeared to be an oversight on Bioware's part). New feats and skills may become available later. All of the Class Feats for the character's Control Class will be available if the character meets the requirements, as will all of the General Feats if their requirements are met.
NEW/CHANGED FEATS:
- Legendary Spell Focus feats
- Legendary Spell Penetration feat
o All of the above feats require their respective Epic Focus or Pentration feat. The focuses add an additional 2 to that school's spell's dcs. Penetration adds 2 to the check to beat a creature's sr.
-Legendary Saving Throw feats:
o Legendary Fortitude requires the Great Fortitude feat and adds +7 to your fortitude save
o Legendary Reflexes requires the Lightning Reflexes feat and adds +7 to your reflex save
o Legendary Will requires the Iron Will feat and adds +7 to your will save
o Legendary Luck requires the Luck of Heroes feat and adds +3 to your fortitude, reflex, and will saves
o Legendary Hardened Soul adds +5 to fort and will save, and requires Strong Soul.
-Legendary Weapon Focus feats
o Legendary Weapon Focus feats add +2 to your LBAB if you have LWF in all weapons you are wielding. This bonus is increased to +3 if you have the Epic Prowess feat.
-Legendary Skill Affinity feats allow your character to take skills in legendary levels as if they were class skills. There are six such feats, for six different skills. Each has a prerequisite feat, as follows:
o LSA Tumble requires Blooded
o LSA Discipline requires Bullheaded
o LSA Concentration requires Courteous Magocracy
o LSA Pick Pocket requires Silver Palm
o LSA Pick Search requires Silver Palm
o LSA Parry requires Snake Blood
-Legendary Skill Focus Feats grant +20 supernatural skill bonus to the selected skill (this bonus falls within the +50 cap).
-Legendary Battle Awareness grants Immunity to Sneak Attacks, and requires Alertness and 30 base Spot and Listen.
-Legendary Battle Hardened 1-4 grants 5% physical damage immunity and requires 25 base Constitution and Epic Damage Reduction I. Can be taken multiple times to a maximum of 20%.
-Improved Stunning Fist does NOT require 19 dexterity in legendary levels, only 19 wisdom.

Can I delevel once I take a legendary level?
-No. Make sure that your level 40 build is where you want it before you take any legedary levels. DMS CANNOT HELP YOU IF YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND LATER, OR IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE ON ONE OF YOUR LEGENDARY LEVELS. You will have the oportunity to start over at every step of the conversation, and will be asked to confirm your choices at the end as well. If you are unsure about your choices, ask someone first - preferably a dm.
Ok, I have the needed experience. What do I do?
-Go through the portal in the Docks. The leveling conversation is self-explanatory.
