I'm thinking of reincarnating one of my 40s (A Thri-Kreen Shifter) into a Minotaur Strength Build.
I was aiming for ridiculous damage and stupid saves. With the possibility of some solo action or support with rogue skills.
Have a look and tell me how bad it is... heh
HUMAN - "minotaur" (secret race) Starting Stats (after racial effects) STR 22 DEX 6 CON 15 WIS 10 INT 14 CHA 4 *Opted for odd CON so I could have 14 INT for my rogue skills. * 36 Strength at level 40.
Level Progression : 1 - 10 FTR 11 - 17 CoT 18 - 19 FTR 20 - 30 CoT 31 -32 FTR 33 - 39 CoT 40 Rog * Rogue at end for max skills. * epic ftr levels (31/32) are for epic weapon spec. (might be able to skip these and go CoT for more saves if EWS can be taken on CoT as a bonus feat.
Pre Epic Feats : PWR ATT (free) , Luck of Heros, Blind Fight, Cleave, Prof (Exotic), WF (BastardSword), GR Cleave, Toughness, KD, IC(bs), Iron Will, IKD, GR Fort, Disarm, IMP Disarm, LGT RFLX, IMP PWR ATT, WPN SPEC(bs), Expertise, IMP Expertise
Epic Feats : Fortitude, OverCrit, Reflex, EWF (bs) , epic will, GR STR, Dev Crit, Epic WSpec, GR STR2, GR STR3, Prowess, GR STR4
skills at 40 : 40 points in Disarm Trap, Open Lock, Search, Tumble, 43 in UMD and left over in Discipline.
unbuffed stats @ 40 (according to CBC) 516 HP 47 AB 45 Fort, 35 Will, 37 Reflex Saves
Cheesy build gets a 1d6 sneak attack also...
VIABLE ?
*Something else I'm considering is reducing my saves a bit by taking epic fighter levels and converting prowess feats into strength if its doable. Have to read up on the reqs.

The main flaw:
CoT saves only look good, but aren't. They count towards the +20 limit on equipment, so you get +12 from CoT levels, but will get only +8 from equipment, where non-CoTs get +20 from equipment. You think 45 fort, 35 will, 37 reflex will end up as 76, 66, 68 at level 60 (+20 equipment, +6 stats, +5 for legendary levels, +31 each), but they will be 12 lower instead - not viable for hells (but for LL).
Oherwise:
- Until the latest changes CoTs counted among the squishies. Dunno if that changed with the update. - If you splash rogue, splash 2 levels at least. Evasion, baby. - You can't expect to seriously unlock things without being able to invest skill points into open lock in legendary levels. - Not sure if you did that already: CoT get fortitude and reflex as their saves, that's a reason for taking as many CoT levels pre-epic as possible, since fighters only get fort saves. - If you want to solo things, reincarnate your shifter - as a shifter. Or make a Flurry of Arrows AA.
Regards!

- If you want to solo things, reincarnate your shifter - as a shifter. Or make a Flurry of Arrows AA. heh. I have only 2 40s. One is immo... and he's a flurry AA. My other 40 is non-immo shifter the ability mage shifter with thri-kreen subby. So I already go those two. I dont play the shifter all that well.. so I was looking at maybe a high dps meatshield... but I'm not having luck with a template. I dont know how you can survive LL areas without 50% self Conceal and epic dodge... sometimes I think thats the only thing keeping my guy alive. So getting past that and the low AB in comparison to AAs.... is what I'm struggling with.

A completely different build, but the comments about both soloing and survival are making me bring up the Tin Can. You would want to use the 15 RDD version now so you can retain 100% fire immunity. No epic dodge or self-conceal. Without using BURs or Hells gear, that toon can solo the illithid tube room and, with a bit of scrambling, the overmind chamber as well. DB? 0 damage from anything but flesher kickback, without using BURs or Hells gear. Pyramid? Only toon I know of to completely solo it up to levers, though I'm sure an AA wearing BUR/Hells gear could do it also. Survival in Hells is fine, and you can get all saves over 60. Crit immunity on demand though you'll rarely need it. Damage output is fine especially with bastard sword though you get no special offensive abilities (e.g. a lasher gets lots of self-buffs, smites, on-hit infliction of damage vulnerability, and so on, but also gets pummeled much more with equal equipment). For big damage and stupid saves, one of the many RDD/Paladin builds would seem to qualify. CoT's do get some pretty neat abilities, such as smiting, SR-dropping in colossal radius, Super Mind Immunity, extra attack from divine wrath, and so on. It's a class that hasn't been very popular so far, with quite a few recent changes to help them come up to speed.

Ya I saw the tin can build and was pretty interrested in it. But I was hoping to make use of the Minotaur race... its one of only 2 sercret subbies I have.
September's not over yet.... I still have time to work this out. heh.

Try mino staffmaster or wm. However, staffmasters have issues at the moment, due to critability (they eat crits comparatively as much as my DD does when he dual wields, but they have no option for crit immunity, nor do they have DD hitpoints).
