A dwarven defender who has improved evasion, and skill points to throw around Compared to a dwarf of steel, this comes at the cost of offensive capabilities (crit range) and 3/ damage reduction, but you have 2 more AC and some listen skill. Subrace considerations Base race must be dwarf, of course. "Battlerager" (secret UltraRare subrace) - requires Dwarf STR +4, CON +3, INT -2, CHA -3, +5 intimidate, free feat: Dodge, free feat: Toughness READ TEXT BELOW BEFORE THIS "Dwarf - Arctic Dwarf"- requires Dwarf STR +2, CON +1, DEX -2, CHR -2, 25% immunity to cold Dodge is a required feat for DD. If you were to use the open subrace (arctic dwarf), you'd have to drink something to get get it. Otherwise you must use a subrace that already has it, which precludes secret subraces. Over crit needs 23 strength, dev crit needs 25. If you can't get that much strength by levels 24 and 28, you'll have to take them later, respectively. Abilities (with battlerager) S 18 (22) D 8 C 17 (20) W 8 I 14 (12) C 8 (5) Skills: discipline(DD), parry, tumble(R), listen(R), umd(R) Levelling All ability increases into STR. Feats *marked are class feats of the respective classes 1 1R luck 3 3R power attack 6 6R cleave 9 9R great cleave 10 10R *improved evasion 11 DD 12 DD improved crit (battleaxe) 15 DD wf battleaxe 18 DD blind fight 21 DD great str 1 24 DD iron will, *over crit (battleaxe) 27 DD lightning reflex 28 DD *dev crit (battleaxe) 30 DD great str 2 32 DD *epic weapon focus 33 DD great str 3 36 DD great str 4, *epic prowess 38 11R 39 12R armor skin 40 13R *slippery mind LL LL luck, LL will, LL reflex, epic fort, LWF, great str 5, 6 Saves @40: 26, 22, 22 Saves @60: 64, 63, 63

With new Dev Crit rules, there is no DC:
Assassins and rangers gain special one-shot-kills, similar to standard Devastating Criticals. Not exactly the same, read up in the Class books.
22 starting STR, all Stat increases and Great STR 4, Weapon Focus, Epic WF, Legendary WF, Epic Prowess and LL BAB Bonus should give a reasonable AB

Tgehawk, I already deleted the test character ... a bit premature, maybe But I somehow believe you're going to go into the test chamber anyway to find out, so if you do, please be so kind and post any "stats" you might find interesting. Regarding dev crit, read up on the changes this mod made to NWN. Regards!

I just got Battlerager and I'm looking to replace my L 50 TinCan now that I have a nice subbie. I'm interested in this build and the one with FTR and 5HS lvls. I'm heading to the test chamber to compare... both look very promising !
OK... I made a few minor changes and the tradeoffs look sweet. I took 2 FTR levels first.. and 2 more at 21/22. Rest of level progression is same. I did that to get exotic wpn. and move feats to bonus in pre-epic to make room for iron will and light reflx in pre-epic. In epic I get 4 GR STR. I lose slippery mind.
@ 40 my saves were 28 - 25 - 25 and AB of 46. @ 60 saves should be 66 - 66 - 66.
And I still have improved evasion. Hows that look ?

Hmm. how high listen skill this toon can get. wonderign cuz:
o Listen skill increases your chances of hitting concealed enemies. A listen score of 60 is equivalent to blindfight, and higher scores get better still. It is an alternative to blindfight's offensive benefits, and does not stack with them - only the highest conceal reduction applies. The formula to calculate effective conceal is: Enemy Conceal ^ (1 + (Listen Skill/60)). For the purpose of this equation, listen ranks over 60 count as half ranks, so someone with 90 ranks would have 75 effective ranks. If that sounds too complex, remember that the effective conceal will be shown ingame.
So basicaly this build Doesnt need blind fight feat because Listen is DDs class skill

How many Pre-LL DD lvls u have then? 25? at DD lvl 26 Dmg reduction jumps to 18/- from 15/- AND you get DD bonus feat. is it worth it? I really dont know

Listen does not provide the defensive benefits of Blind Fight. So it's still a good idea to take it if you can.

But I believe the Dwarven Defender's Battle Awareness covers that.

according to nwnwiki: Invisible attacking creatures get a 50% Concealment bonus against enemy attacks and can ignore the dexterity modifier of any opponent unless that opponent has the Uncanny Dodge feat.
the article that was in seems to be written for pnp tho, so im not sure if nwn has it implemented the same way. assuming it is, battle awareness should cover the defensive aspect of blind fight

Ah, interesting. If that's the case, that's very good to know.
