Yup, you get 7, at 42, 45, 48, 51, 54, 57, and 60. Just continues adding one every 3 levels like pre-legendary levels - the last pre-LL feat you get is at 39. Funky

Yup the 7 feats I said to take in the LL are GR8 STR 1-6 and LL Spell Focus Enchantment.

I would take exotic weapon at first lvl and extra smiting at third lvl so you can use the bastard sword right from the start.

and my level progression would now be 19pal,1cot,2pal, 9cot, 8 pal, 1 monk, to get the smite item earlier.

Hey Dragonlance...just wanted to say that I was with a toon very close to this last night in Sssssssssssithy's place. His smite was RIDICULOUS against the minions in the underwater city or whatever it's called - those lizard-looking fellows. Unfortunately he got wasted pretty quick, and wasn't always able to get a smite off. But if you could play it right, would be very devastating. He was nearly 1-hit killing those guys. It was an awesome sight to behold to say the least. As a side note, my Staffmaster Gilgallad was able to stand toe-to-toe with them for a little bit, so I can stand in (and drink heals) while you smite the living tar out of them.

When I wasn't getting us killed my dex monk-ey was doing alright soaking up the damage... until of course those swords came out... must find sonic resistance...

If u want to take pally first but dont need the Wisdom to be so high, use a mino subby, set the wisdom high enuf to be a pally on creation. enter game. relog for racial changes and ta daaaaa. A pally with less Wisdom than a pally is allowed to start with.
But then why would you build a pally Or COT with low chr, since Divine wrath, sheild, smite, and Saves are at least either time or Bonus linked to chr? May as well make a fighter!

Any condisderation given to skipping Bastard Sword and going with Hammer? There are a couple of decent hammers in the game, one in particular is nice for Pallys.
I know that feats aren't that big a problem with this build, but given how bludgeoning seems to be one of the better forms of attack, it might be a nice change.
Thoughts?

Yup I would say that warhammer would also be a great choice for this build. Probably better than bastard sword, I just put bastard sword in there because this build was not feat starved and it is more "paladinish" that way lol. Warhammer would be great tho. ~DL

By lvl 20 or in that area somewhere a person playing this build would have all paladin spells and more than enough slots. This is probably the best paladin build I've seen for HG.
This build would win awards if one day HG decided to do get rid of the smite timer or at least make it something more reasonable like 2 greater smites every 4 minutes instead of 1.
Even with the smite timer I really like this build. Good job dragonlance007.

Any value in using Baseborn Titan for a build like this? I have the book and am trying to decide if I want to use it or trade it (tempting to use it with the new update).
Also, I would need to figure out a weapon choice. Are warhammers really that good on HG? Why not dwarven waraxe (low crit range but nice damage and crit multiplier). Katana/Bastard Sword look good too.
Comments and suggestions wanted.

Ok; I've played this build through to level 48 with Aasimar as the race, and two (or three) things to note
1. I took Blind fight in LL, sure it makes the drow a little more interesting, but you have 10 greater smites so you pretty much crush drow.
2. 'Extend' Right now it looks like level 30 is actually the best place to pick up "extend". You can't select it as a feat in the 10 levels of CoT, so your next window is level 29 or 30. The other choice is at level 18 - right now I have that as extra smiting, but could swap it out.
3. since Aasimar lacks the Wiz of the Fallen Angel (boy I wish I had that race), I cheated my STR by one and took a Wizdom point so I could get 4th level Pally spells
Also, I took Warhammer so I could get back the feats that woudl otherwise be used for exotic. Unlike the FA build of smite-tastic, with Aasimar you are tight on Feats
For those of you considering, Here's the feat order I took with the Aasimar version - all stat selections are the same:
1 Weapon Focus (warhammer), Toughness 3 Power Attack 6 Devine Might 9 Devine Shield 12 Improved Critical 15 Extra Turning 18 Extra Smiting 21 Great CHA, Epic Weapon 23 Epic Prowess (Alternate Blind FIght) 24 Greater CHA 25 Greater Smite I 27 Greater Smite 2,3 29 Greater Smite 4 30 Extend (Epic Prowess if you took BF at 23) 33 Greater Smite 5, 6 36 Greater Smite 7,8 39 Greater Smite 9,10
In LL, pick up Blind fight or Epic Prowess or Extend
