This build was designed about 2 months ago to meet the challenges of the pyramid. I have a lev 60 version sorc because of the gear available at the time. (sorc helm has 15 magic resist and frees up a cloak slot for 50 resist to elemental in lieu of the ecto cloak which has 15 magic resist) Sorc also has potential to get +2 higher ac.**** I also have a 43 version wiz, though the plan is nearly identical, save for transmute barrier, afforded by choosing wiz over sorc and improved critical - longbow. You won't need shunt with this build provided you have two ur rings, anhur and signet of set. UR cloak folds of the brazier and mestils acid wrap also work nicely. Can go with UR boots also. Can be done with less, but these items make it easiest for me. I realize its no small order, but something to shoot for. I remade with wiz as there is an ammy in game with 15 resist to magic, eliminating the need to use sorc helm. There is hope for the UR impaired if accompanied by a druid with shunt for elemental immunities and/or a bard to help cover saves and a cleric to cast the epic buff aegis would really help. You can really get by without having a slew of urs equipped. Just adjust tactics accordingly and you can replace ur rings with rare rings.

Epic Spells
1) With Epic Spell Focus Transmutation you have the option to learn Transmute Barrier as an epic spell provided you find someone or something to teach it to you. Transmute Barrier is a circular wall that surrounds you and may protect you from mobs in some circumstances.
2) I chose to use the Divination Epic Spell Focus book. You will have the option to learn Contingency provided you find someone or something to teach it to you. Contingency is a life saver to be sure and helps in small parties. It's a fail safe for the pesky ones we all love so dearly.
Legendary Level Feats - 7 LL feats to spend
1.) Great Dex V
2.) Great Dex VI
3.) Great Dex VII
4.) Great Dex VIII
5.) Great Dex IX
6.) Great Dex X
7.) Epic Fortitude
Skill Point Allocation
I took all class skills at 1 skill rank per point of skill except for pickpocket which was not a class skill option for classes in this build. For example, I waited until lev 40 to take any points in tumble and discipline to gain the most ranks per skill point spent.
Concentration 43
Discipline 43
Lore 43
Pickpocket 4 Taken as a cross-class skill, meaning one point of pick pocket cost you two skill points. (with 25 dex mod you will hit 29 with 4 points pickpocket) Auto success with roll of 1 to hit target goal of 30, provided you dont suffer any armor penalties or other effects in battle)
Tumble 40
Spellcraft (optional)
The remaining 25 points can be spent at your whim. Also note that you won't take any more discipline or tumble in LL levels freeing up a skill to improve as a cross-class if desired. I like spellcraft and spot personally as you dont have to max either to be effective. If you want spot for a skill, take as many points as possible at lev 3 arcane archer or lev 20 overall as this build lists, to get as a class skill. Also note that your spot will be boosted by 11 from your wis modifier in addition to the ranks you have taken. Read skill descriptions on char sheet for more info.
Following info assumes you have maxed stats from gear/buffs
Ab - This build will give you a max effective ab of 73 (can hit 74 with dex artifact) as tested in training grounds next to arena area.
Using rapid shot (losing two ab for all attacks made in the round) your ab for 9 attacks will be:
71, 66, 61, 71, 66, 61, 56, 51, 46. and sometimes i got a 10th attack at 41 ab.
Ab is comprised as follows:
Base ab of 21 from build only
1 for wep focus longbow
1 for epic prowness
2 from epic wep focus longbow
2 from aa levs (aa lev 3 provides +2) bonus at 1, 3 levs aa
25 from dex ( my ending dex at lev 60 was 60 or mod 25 points to ab
20 comprised of bow and tensers
1 from point blank shot if within 15 feet of target
73 ab (can hit 74 with dex artifact)
Note: Some mobs can be flanked which will increase your odds to hit them. Another way to squeeze out that little extra effective ab when the opportunity presents itself.
(Hint: shoot the monster that is engaging a pal in your party and try to do it from the rear and maybe the side. Not sure about the side.) Should give you +2 to ab.
This toon was made for pyramid and the ab is more than enough to kill quickly.
AC 128 , can hit 129 with dex or wis artifact***
Conceal 85% (Etheral Visage)
AC is comprised as follows:
10 Base ac
18 natural (tensers adds +1 per two caster levs past 20, so 56 caster levs will net you 36 levs/2 natural ac boost or +18.
18 armor modifier from wiz bracers.
16 deflection from any number of sources
20 dodge from 16 boots and haste +4, or use immo helm to compensate for a lack of dodge ac if your boots are not +16.
11 from wisdom modifier from chosing a monk level
8 from tumble
25 from dex modifier @ at dex 60
2 from armor skin
128 AC
***Note on AC and Cleric Buff: I have tested whether the +2 armor modifier to a robe from cleric epic spell stacks with +18 armor modifier on bracers. It won't.**** Your robe (currently best robe is +14 armor mod) with cleric epic boost of +2 armor modifier = +16, will not exceed +18 from the wiz bracers armor modifier and the highest of the two would stand as armor modifier to ac. Or it could be becasue the cleric epic just doesnt work properly, though i would guess its because they don't stack due to rules of ac. Don't let the term "armor modifier" confuse you, it is a category of ac. All ac categories influence armor class, but in this case "armor modifier" is a specific class of bonus to ac. Dodge modifier stacks to a cap of 20, but armor modifier, natural modifier, and deflection modifier do not. Only the highest of each type of modifier will stand on its own for the purpose of increasing your ac.
I have tested the epic cleric spell which increases armor modifier +2 on my 60 sorc version and it stacks together for the purpose of increasing ac. In this case you will receive +14 from armor modifier from robes and + 2 from cleric armor modifier buff = +16 total armor modifier. Since there is no other armor modifier to compete with the +16 , the +16 stands as your final armor modifier for that category. So ac for sorc version stands tested at 130 with cleric epic spell armor modifier. And would go to 131 with dex/ wis artifact.
Wiz ac will remain at 128 with tensers and 129 with dex or wis artifact.
Long winded I know and I prob confused more of you than I helped. See me in game for examples.
****According to tests performed today, Oct 30, 2006 by Fusa and Dean Ickey.
Wiz will give you all spells, more skill points and one extra epic spell and I got one extra regular feat (improved critical longbow) all things being equal for the two versions. Sorc will give you 2 more ac from cleric buff. Using a blackblade of disaster frequently should help you cover the two lost points ac on the wiz model.
HP - 950 with tensers 556 without, hp are not a big prob if you dont get hit, except for some areas of HG and depending upon your gear set-up of course.
This toon isnt best suited for all of hg, but it is well-suited for pyramid as it stands now and 90% of the other areas on HG. I would take care when playing this toon in areas frequented by mobs known to use breach type spells as you depend on tensers and etheral visage for your offense and defense to be at its best.
Saves (with +20 from items & max stats):
Fort 57
Refl 69
Will 58
You have the option to use the con artifact to squeeze another point of fort save if you want to hit 60 fort on a roll of two. Or you can go for more ab and ac with dex artifact. Ill wait to see what each does before choosing one or the other. Also, by having contingency you can afford to fail a fort save on a roll of 2 or less provided of course the save dc is 60. It hasnt been a prob in the past for me.
