The Higher Ground Infernal Warrior build

Seems there is a shortage of Bane Knight builds here, so I will post mine.

This build uses the Fallen Angel secret subrace to get divine might/shield for free + an increase to CHA. Any subrace that gets a + to CHA, or doesn't take a minus to it, should be able to do well for this build.

"Fallen Angel" (secret UltraRare subrace) - no race requirement (adds wings)
WIS +5, CHA +2, +10 heal, free feat: Divine Might, free feat: Divine Shield, able to walk on quicksand

Starting Stats start/subrace adjustments

STR - 16
DEX - 8
CON - 16
INT - 8
WIS - 8/13
CHA - 16/18

This build starts out LAWFUL GOOD. Then any time after lvl 2 you can talk smack to the priest and turn evil.

I choose not to take Premonition b/c it only goes off the BG lvl for caster lvl and would IMO not be worth it. Take Greater Sanctary and also use lvl 8 slots for extended lvl 7 spells.

After you get the Epic Fiendish Servant feat start looking for the Black Guard secret to make it better.

My advice after lvl 40 is get an Enchantment book. Then you will get gmw +13 and with LL SF Enchantment +14.

What's the pally level good for? You'll get the save bonus from blackguard levels anyway and turn undead (for divine might, shield) comes at pally level 3. If you go with one level fighter, you'll get a bonus feat and one level monk will give you cleave without taking power attack and hide is a monk's class skill. Or you can take one level of cleric for the turn undead.

How does paladin get 2xCHA for saves? It's not on the Wiki (not always right, I know), and I didn't see it in the list of class changes for HG. I was wondering the same thing maljin asked.

I know it sounds crazy, but if you Read that book that came with the game, you'll find all kindsa crazy stuff. The ability is called Divine Grace, pallys get it at first level, adds their charisma mod to saves. For BGs its called Dark Blessing, and they get it at 2nd level, also adds charisma mod to saves.

ummm I have lvl 57 BK, its a fun toon to play. About your build a couple of comments.

1) I think your HP are kinda low..I predict that to be a problem, remember you are not a caster...you are a STR tank.
2) Your reason for not taking lvl 8 spells was that premo was not useful....what about Great Sanctuary?

Ah...I knew about Divine Grace and Dark Blessing (I'm not quite THAT bad , but I did not know that they stack. Makes sense since it's two feats I suppose.

I never know what stacks in this game and what doesn't though. DR from feats and DwD does, but not with Premo and Stoneskin...DG and DB do, although I'm sure there's something that they don't stack with too, like bonus to saves on items. (I doubt that's the case, just making the point that NWN seems somewhat arbitrary in what stacks and what doesn't).

About the hp... yeah you are right they are kinda low. So, you can put only 16 to str and then you can have a starting 16 in CON and CHA. That is probably the better way to go. I will update the build with that info. I just really wanted to get +40 ab by lvl 40.

And you are right. Greater Sanctuary would be more usful than Bigby's 8th lvl spell. Going to update that too.

Hey, I'd just like to say that I've been playing this build for a couple days now (only lvl 21 so far) but it's turning out to be quite a powerful character... ran it thru the training hall and was able to hit 73 AB with self-buffs, non-subrace human (have no secret races yet) and no true strike (7 AB higher than my dexer). It's a pretty beastly build! ;D

EDIT: Just read about the AB cap, actual AB is only 64 at lvl 40... still, not a bad number at all!

Thanks. When I ran this guy up in the training halls with FA subrace my buffed ab with no gear of course was in the +80's.

The build is just a little tough when you start getting to the teen lvls and low 20's. After 25 it really opens up.

Yes, I've noticed that the build is an offensive beast. However, he seems to get hit a lot (actual character is now lvl 42, 102AC) I was wondering if I'm supposed to incline more towards AC or damage immunity to keep him from dying so much...?
