ok so i'm looking for a way to use my minotaur, wanted to make a tanking char. my goals were plenty of health, plenty of ab, and high damage reduction. i'm not sure which pre-epic feats are worth taking, also i dunno why i can't take improved knockdown.
Race: minotaur (i guess it doesn't matter what race you use, this would work perfectly with a race which gives an odd number of str)
Level progression: 21 barbarian, 1 bard, 10 rdd, 7 barbarian, 1 bard
starting stats: raise str to 18, con to 17, drop the extra wherever
skills: 8 lore, max discipline every level, on bard levels max umd, tumble to 40, dump the rest into taunt
pre-epic feats: toughness (start) luck of heroes (start) weapon focus heavy armor improved critical lightning reflexes iron will skill focus disc Note: the last three are really up to you.
epic feats: epic weapon focus great con 1 great con 2 damage reduction 1 damage reduction 2 damage reduction 3 mighty rage great con 3 great str 1
LL feats: great str 2-8
stats: all str
results @ lvl 40: str: 41 con: 22 ab (w/ mundane weap) 48
results @ 60 (projected) str: 52 con: 26 ab: 58 (w/ mundane weapon) 78 after gmw + mighty rage
anyhow i need plenty of input and suggestions, but i think i have a solid base. lmk what you guys think. thanks
edit: fixed errors in my math (what can i say i got my degree in english).

Class Secrets There are secret items for several classes, and more are in the works. These secrets require 25 levels in the class and 35 levels overall to FIND; they require 35 levels in the class, and 40 levels overall to USE. They are non-UMDable. Secret items currently exist for:
-Barbarians can become shapestrong, allowing them to become giant-sized at will. The character must have at least 30 levels of the barbarian class, be level 35 or higher, and find an item to be able to use this ability. Once a PC is Giant sized and relogs in that form, he will be able to use large weapons one-handed, freeing up the offhand slot for a shield or medium weapon. The size change will last until the PC relogs while in normal form. -Mighty Rage has been altered. In addition to the normal bonuses, mighty rage now also simulates a stackable strength increase of 16, by adding 8 to the enhancement bonus of the weapon/s the barbarian is using - if the weapon has an attack bonus instead of an enhancement bonus, it will still only add 8 to enhancement, resulting in a potentially much lower bonus to hit. On achieving legendary levels, mighty rage lasts 10 times as long, if the character has barbarian as their control class.
Legendary levels: Feats: Characters continue to gain a general feat every three levels, beginning at level 42, 3 levels after the last received at level 39.
It sounds like you will be able to up to here. The next quote makes it sound like won't be able to.
You'll notice that several of these attributes are dependant on the character's 'class'. Legendary levels are not considered to be standard levels in a standard class. You cannot, for instance, use them to fulfill level requirements for feats, spells, abilities, and so on; those must all be met by level 40. Legendary levels are, however, influenced by the character's Mighty Rage From NWNWiki Jump to: navigation, search Type of Feat: (Epic) General
Prerequisite: 21st level, Strength 21+, Constitution 21+ and Greater Rage
ahh and the light shines on me. Looks like you will meet all your requirements by lvl 40 so the feat Mighty rage should be available to you in LL

Mighty rage doesnt require 30 bararian levels. Shapestrong rage does, and LLs don't count towads meeting that goal.
@scar- quote by putting [*quote] infront of the quote, minus the *, and [/quote] after it. Funky

ok well shapestrong has no benefits for large characters right? so its not a problem for this build.
i appreciate the input. also i'd like some suggestions on pre-epic feats(any maybe any ideas on why i can't take imp knockdown)
thanks

You need 13 Int for Improved Knockdown. Expertise, another good pickup, also requires 13 Int. Disarm ALSO requires 13 Int, but it sucks against monsters.
Blind Fight has no requirements. The Will and Reflex feats also have no requirements. Also consider Luck of Heroes (+1 to each save), but you need to take it on level 1.

would there be any advantages for taking only 10 rdd levels and 5 more barbarian levels?

Like I said I don't see any advantage in taking 15 RDD . . .

If you don't take Bard at level one do you still need to take 11 CHA, I'm guessing you do as its a requirement for bards? Also note that you only get 7 LL feats so Great STR 1-10 isn't going to happen.

No, you can evade the 11 CHA req if you take it after level 1. Funky

update: this char has hit a serious snag as i accidentally took one extra rdd level during a run. i've dropped epic dr 3 and will just keep going from here. so far the survivability at level 38 on the immo run and lolth are amazingly good, and i'm hitting reliably. we'll see how well this works out in LL areas.

No, you can evade the 11 CHA req if you take it after level 1. Funky Nice, I'd tried it on CBC and it let me but I wasn't sure whether it would let me in reality.
