Just a note. Some builds that will eventually make an appearance on these boards include. The board could really use...not to limit the posting but Blood Fire Mage I know from experience that BFMs are not very newbie friendly, considering they are not very powerful until they attain quasiclass status, I could post my version here however.

Hmm....are wizards and pms easy enough to grasp (no pun intended) or just impossible to mess up, thus are not in the list here?
I think this certainly will be a valuable resource indeed, and applaud the effort taken to begin and contribute to this, but I would like to see it also promote these two builds....not that your typical opinionated mage player would listen to anyone's advice anyway but....heh.....

Well I suggested BFM not because its easy to build or easy to play. I suggested it because it can be made with an open subby and still leave the player with a powerful character to learn HG and gather gear. A difficult to learn character is fine, so long as its a sound character. In fact the more people can learn about the mod and playing in general the better. BFM's are a HG exclusive, so its ok to flaunt them . There is a wizard build on the forum. You can post another in a different thread with a different angle if you want. Palemasters I have some reservations about. Yes they're easy to build, but you almost need to be a veteran player just to play one. Its not a matter of knowing the class as much as knowing your enemies well. Its a double challenge in a way because you need to learn a difficult class and learn about all the enemies in every area to be effective. I guess I'm already seeing alot of well built poorly played palemasters, and I don't want to add to the number . Maybe the answer to the problem would be a good build with a more detailed playing guide written by an experienced PM player. The builds I suggested were only suggestions. Tyran

Ah....good points....but do you mean there is a wizard build already on this automated forum thing, or did you mean there are wizard build on the build forums? I dont see any wizard in the 10 you listed in the first thread, although I do see sorcerer and maybe that is more ideal for a new, automated type mage build.

Thank you for trying to be helpfull, but I'm referring to an AUTOMATED build, which I assume this thread is about, and I do not see a WIZARD in that. While the copious notes on a wizard build look very informative (in that thread that was referred to), I'm sure that the very reason an AUTOMATED build concept is thought to be usefull is in fact because players will not read even a small % of all that extremely good information until its too late. Since I do enjoy playing a wizard so much, I was asking about why an AUTOMATED WIZARD BUILD would not be included in the 10 (that were listed in the first part of this thread).
Regardless, I'm sure Tyranlthixis's and other's efforts will end up with quite an asset for the HG community.

Stuck at work tonight but I have been working on a few open subrace builds on the dev server. I've pretty much conceded that a strength monk for a novice player is just not a good idea with an open subrace. Dex monk is another story. Planning on doing a dex monk build after I finish laying out the fighter build I've been working on. I'll then retire the High Troll Lord build once and for all since this one will be infinitely better.

The board could really use... A non RDD, DD variant (something similar to Zerragon's Hellsmasher maybe) I posted a decent one. Its a modified version from one that was in discussion forum a year ago. I have this build as a Battlerager myself. But it works just fine as open subrace Arctic Dwarf.

Noticed you had no CC Arcane Archer build, so I posted my Hardcore AA's build - the "Ascetic Archer." I've gone over it thoroughly many times and corrected many errors (for example, I dunno how but I had Wood Elf down as having +2 WIS!). Hopefully this is adequate and meets your approval; I welcome any corrections or suggestions. Should be very newbie-friendly, as it stacks the defense on pretty thickly. Er... given Dod's Green Arrow build - which I somehow didn't see until AFTER I laid this all out in nice formatted text - I wonder if you think this is redundant. Still, AA special abilities are very useful, and mine should have significantly higher AB and more AC. Also, as non-rogue, you don't have to stand close for sneak attacks. Your call, of course!

I have a question regarding HGE required feats... How should we factor these into builds posted? I was going to update some of my builds here, yet, it occurred to me that newer players are not likely to have HGE installed, and would not be able to take them. (Namely greater weapon focus and power critical). Any recommendations as to how to handle this? Also, about CEP weapons, what should I do with those? (For my assassin build.)

i put them in my own rdd, but during legendary levels, because iirc you CAN choose them in legendary levels, without having HGenhanced installed...
edit: i checked it and you can indeed pick them as legendary level feats
