You only need the yal.exe on windows (I think)
All you need to do is have teh yal.exe in your log directory and execute it. It will start reading automatically.

Any chance you could post the Perl script, or is this now binary only?

the binary is at www.keleous.com/downloads/nwn.pl as linked in the original thread. It's still way open source. (I don't normally post it, I get almost 0 downloads for it compared to the .exe version) -Ill

not sure if you are going to understand this but here goes:
Is it at all possible to have the main window that usually shows all of your toons stats have a drop down menu that allows you to choose from party members too?

TJ Anythings possible. Know perl? In other words, I don't think I'm going to code that in. I think the party stats are sufficient at the moment.

hmm i do not know perl..... doesn't seem like it would be hard to me (you may get a laugh out of this as i am an inexperienced programmer) but couldnt you code the drop down and then copy and paste a lot of the code but just change the variables for the party members as they get set for the party stats window?

TJ actually, only one variable would need to be changed, you would just change the "your toon" to "a toon in the party hash table" I check to see who you are in a few places. that would override the setting you suggest, and you would have to code around those spots also. Not to mention, code the menu itself in TK. -ill Edit for inner workings on how to catch the toon name: If your REALLY interested, your toon name is caught here: if (/^(.+): PCScry: Select an option$/) { if ($OPTIONS{"catchtoonname"}==1) { new_party_member($1); $toon = $1; } next; } # Welcome message if (/Welcome to Higher Ground, (.+)!$/) { if ($OPTIONS{"catchtoonname"}==1) { new_party_member($1); $toon = $1; } next; }

doesn't seem like it would be hard to me Even simple things take time when coding, in my experience (time most people would rather spend in-game or doing other things unless the benefit of the code outweighs the effort). I've only ever programmed in the simplest of programming languages (visual basic, html, css), but I expect the same applies to perl, only moreso.

I expect the same applies to perl, but moreso. The issue is that unlike Microsoft development, you need to code your gui. Most Microsoft developers take for granted that visual studio builds windows and menus for them out of "canned code". Perl doesn't. However, I will put it in my bug tracking tool that it was suggested (yes, I track them). It's right under Enriths 100th request to bring back the GS timer. -Ill

I get a file not found error for that on both my Windows and Linux machines. The yal.txt file file is downloadable but is an old version.
