As most of you have seen, a major focus of development has been in bringing you new and challenging areas. Rather than conitinuing to develop the newer areas (Mount P'Reeth, etc.) we will switch gears and make what we already have even better. It is now time to take the areas already in play and bring them all up to the same level of quality. Our focus for the next few weeks will now be in enhancing all areas in need of an upgrade. We will start at the top and work our way down. The first upgrade will be in the Abyss, using new monsters and a smaller area to reduce lag. The Abyss will most likely be divided into two layers instead. The next areas will be the Underdark, bringing them up to truly epic levels (35 - 40), integrating the new AI, introduction of new creatures, and bringing in the Underdark tileset. Razhids after that, etc. Then we will trickle down the list, from higher to lower level areas. ALL INPUT IS WELCOME. Any ideas you have about updating areas, increasing difficulty and/or complete overhauls, feel free to post here. We are open to ALL ideas. Mind you, we will not necessarily bring all ideas to fruition, however ALL ideas will be heard and taken into consideration. One question that is out in the open is the transition from Halls of the Dead to the Underdark. Halls is lvl 17 - 20. UD will be from lvl 30 - 40. That's a big jump. How should we make the transition smoother? Would you like to see some more intermediate levels in between? Would you like to see the Anduins staff quest reinstituted, with the pieces scattered across the Epic level areas rather than the forest? We've had a lot of great ideas from you all before and I expect even more great ideas to come. Please don't hesitate to post them here.

Well, most people dont go into the temple anymore unless their on the way to become immortal, because the HG expansions provide better exp and loot that the original areas.
Perhaps you could revive the drugar and rakshasa rooms from the halls of the dead. These two areas rarely have players venture into them.
If the Staff is to be hidden in new epic areas, then is the rest of the temple going to be updated as well? if wouldnt be challenging after beating many hard eneimies to finnally have access to a place that has enemies that are about 15 levels below you. You could make the temple for lvl 25-30 and make the transition to the underdark alot smoother

Absolutely. A revamped Temple would mean that areas like Umber and Cats 2 would be unavailable for chars lvl 11 - 16. Back in the day those two were the BEST areas to lvl in, hands down. I am reluctant to eliminate them for just such reasons. Perhaps the Staff quest would allow only access to Hall of Statues and beyond? Or are players just not using those areas to lvl their mid lvl chars at all? If not, which areas are you using instead?

There are some who also go to new Kobolds area and Hobgoblins when able, then onto Gnolls, then to Strange tower, Then web.
There are a few on the server that think some of the new area's are not worth exploring, because you can get better xp and stay alive longer in places like the Web. I would like to see this changed, cause the exploration element is not as apparent as before. I've been with people who try the new areas then go back to the well travelled places cause they lvl faster, or they don't die as much etc.
Also, a bit of a area lvl guide on a sign-board in town would be great. I've spoken to some more people, and they are'nt sure what lvl they have to be to go there, so they don't go at all till lvl 38+. It's a bit lame i know, but a lvl and party size recommendation board would go along way to people exploring alot more.
