Apologies for the tardiness of this post. Should have posted it last night after the update.
There will be "tiered" Dragons in the game. Dragons for characters of varying levels to be challenged by. The current big 4 (Asimathas, Lthiuschas, Grehnaxes (sp?) and Bloodpool) are geared for characters of level 25+. To give them good loot (like a dragon would have), the consideration must be taken on allowing all characters access to the wyrm. Due to the close proximity of some of the dragons to town, it is possible for a lvl40 character to easily reach one in 60 secs and whip on him quite easily, obtaining 5+mil in gold with very little effort. Rather than making all dragons suitable for level 40 players, there will be dragons of varying strength throughout the game, tiered toward player levels. The current big 4 have scripts in place that will delete the non-gold treasure dropped by the dragon if ANY player in the party that fights it is above a certain level. I know it will be a pain for you, as a player, to try and remember which level is for which dragon. However, we feel that this is a minor inconvenience compared to nerfing the amount of loot they drop for the appropriate level players? Agreed? Good. As of right now, the current killer levels and caps for the dragons are:
Asimathas (Big Red) - Levels: 25+ Cap:30 Bloodpool - Levels:25+ Cap:30 Grehnaxas (sp?) - Levels:27+ Cap:32 Lithiuschas (Lucy) - Levels:27+ Cap:32 Shadow Dragon - Levels:20+ Cap:25
The levels are just recommended levels. If you want to take your lvl 18 bard into Big Red's lair, no one will stop you but him. These caps are in no way set in stone and can/will be adjusted as needed based on player success/input.
There are no other caps on any remaining dragons. Kill nice!!!

They haven't gone in just yet. They are sitting in the module on my comp awaiting the next update. That was a pre-emptive post. Good eye though. Thank you.

I was wondering how exactly this worked... I was with a lvl 23 or 24 the other day and we killed the Shadow Dragon in Cave Trolls place after a char who was over lvl 25 left the party and watched, but we did not receive any loot.
Can there be no chars over the lvl cap in the area at all?
She did raise a guy during the fight, which might have affected it, but that was the only interaction she had.

Please update this post,
After killing the black dragon grahnaxis TWICE with a group of under 30s (about 6 of us), and getting no loot... it was found out from Forsaken that the cap is 28 not 32.
It only took our group about 45 mins to kill him each time, just very very annoying.

Yup that would be a good idea to get a complete list of dragons and their lvl caps. Are there any other boss-monsters besides dragons that have caps?

Thanks forsaken!
Sorry for being bitchy earlier, but it was soooo frustrating to kill him again without any drop.
The first time I chalked up to bad luck (no drop), the second time was just frustrating.

I have 2 characters on HG, and I missed the drop cap with both characters for shadow dragon. The first time was because I didnt' know about the cap, while the second time is because I simply forgot the cap was 25. It's killing me a bit cuz I keep wondering what the dragon I missed drops. And truth be told, there's so much loot in the mod anyways, I rarely kill dragons for money. So my suggestion is this: keep a cap on the dragons such that for those over that level, the dragon will drop items that are considered "stolen," and is worth 0gp if someone tries to sell them at the thieves camp. Thanks for reading this.

First, an Update - Bloodpool is capped again, at 32. Second, I wanted to respond to rd79. The caps server a couple of purposes other than preventing people from getting money too easily. For one, they help ensure that it takes a group to kill the dragon. True, the weaker dragons can be killed solo by a person above the cap, but a large part of the incentive to do so is gone. The caps also create a certain amount of rarity for the items affected by them, another desirable affect. If you missed being able to get them, you can always barter for it with another player. Stimulating trade between players was another, albeit minor, goal for the update.

I realize this ahs been this way for years, but...
Have you thought about making dragon loot no trade items instead, and only make the no loot script run if the group is over the 6 level range and does not qualify for experience. That would prevent lvl 40 from killing the dragon for his lvl 25 freind to get loot, but relax the group make-up for people who want to take it on. They will have to !partyroll on the spot and decide who gets what.
I dont think the money aspect matters in this module. If you can sell the items for a couple of mil that's not really that much for lvl 40, I really think no-trade is a stronger restriction than "stolen item".
I mean, new players who are poorly outfitted would have a much harder time killing the dragon with a group of 25s, than veteran players who already have their characters decked out. A level 28 newby might find a lvl 25 dragon drop far more useful to them than the items they have found elsewhere. While veterans rarely need dragon drops because they arleady have their gear selection through 40 lined out before they even make the character.
If a lvl 40 goes and solos it, he will get some dragon drops that are too lwo for him, but that he cannot give to one of his lowbies. He can look at what he looted and say "oohh, I need to get a group together for my lowbie and come kill this dragon, maybe I'll get this cool item for him".
Just a thought from a newb.

jackpace..... maybe you have not read the whole topic yet.
A lvl 33-60 wouldnt get loot from a caps dragon, So it is absolutely meanless to take a lvl 40 there. If you dont believe what me, try it your self.
I know for sure, three of the 4 script that does this.
1, if one of you party member are above the caps and they are helping you, you get no loot. 2, if you have in a party with ppl above the caps but they are not helping you or even in the area, you get no loot. 3, if there is a toon, who is above caps in the area, whether he or she is helping or not, you will get no loot.
