Well considering the old battle cleric thread doesn't even have ANY build until the 5th page or so, and there aren't too many other people building them I thought I'd post this. This is the pharlan version (thought I will make a spot for the FA version) Basically pharlan and FA are the only two races that make this particular style of melee cleric doable.
This version of the build is heavily influenced by the version posted by Yue, however includes three epics instead of 2, better saves and only one less AB.
Anyway why build a battle cleric over say any other divine fighter? Primarily the buffs!
1. Great crit immunity
2. Damage buffs - Divine might, favor, bonus damage from battletide
3. Greater Restore - the only str tank that can GR themselves (and others if you're in a good mood )
5. cleric epics
6. Offensive spells: inflicts, harms and EQs. Creeps if you take plant.
And of course they're just plain fun to confuse people with . . . . This version of the build has 3 epics.
CONS:
Medicore AB - offset by greater restore in the hells.
Low CON, be afraid of con checks!
takes a while to buff if you die or are dispelled
MANY buffs for keep track of - can be difficult
This is the build at lvl 60, Double demi, with Strength artifact - fully self buffed in burs. Using medium armor and asmo gloves. 95 AB. NO +14 stat items . . .YET.

Notes
For the moment I'd recommend reading the transmutation tome for IoF, however with the increasing number of caster clerics taking it - and the fact you have enchant you could take something else.
I took the strength domain originally to move divine power down a level to free up spellslots. It hasn't been as important as it was originally however it is nice to have the option. The knowledge domain is an excellent choice with Clairaudience and clairvoyance.
However if Avatar is ever improved, I'd strongly recommend using illusion then taking the plant domain for good creeping doom.
This build works much, much better if you have the optional hak so that you can cast extended harms and EQs. Otherwise you have to spend a feat on silent to accomplish the same thing. :/
