Thanks for the reminder, yeah i missed one epic feat there. build fixed now so legendary reflex is added into legendary feats.
12 dex over 8 dex is not only 4 more dex check bonus, but 2 more ac. if u want to add 2 more int for +1ac from Craft Armor, then add them into dex is better since 2 dex means +1ac,+1reflex and +2dex check. after playing several casters, i think dex is more important than con personally cuz most checks that immobilize a caster is from dex check and i do care AC on casters too.
I have to agree a normal hell/ely/abo party would mind if a caster cleric doesnot have either IOF or Girding. i made the build this way cuz i donot wanna waste kenku's free spell focus:Abjuration. so for alternative, i think u can completely drop the 3 feats of Abjuration(GSF,ESF and LSF:abj) for ESF:Transmutation. but if u want to stay what the build is, dropping LSF:abj for LSF:div is quite a cool alternate. personally i think it depends on ur gear/playstyle.
Right. i reinc'ed one of my old cleric toons to legendary lvl and did such a test. it turned out the +16 armor ac from mage armor didnot apply to the armor although i did get a +16armor ac. so when girding is done, it didnot give another +2ac to the armor. i'm not sure if it's a bug or it just should work this way. but since it's working like this now, knowledge domain will be a perfect replacement.
Yeah, i have to apologize for that cuz i didnot know the armor ac given by the spell isnot merged onto armor u wearing. However, now that ur lvling a caster cleric from lvl 1 to 60, magic domain is better than knowledge domain. mage armor's dodge ac helps a lot from lvl 1-40. stoneskin helps all the way from lvl 9-60. personally i used icetorm(ignores evasion like drows) as well. CC tbh doesnot help that greatly in LL runs and pre-LL runs, most mobs simply donot have any concealment. but when u reach lvl 60, knowledge domain is over magic domain since those benefits gained from mage armor/stoneskin can be gained from party buff/bur gear.
Thanks for all the feedback about the builds either on this thread or through pms. Updated the Banishment Cleric to a final version which i did a test on. as for the Evil Cleric, i've added a few spell instructions.
I actually messed up on the reincarnate, didn't get my spellcraft up to 50. I wish it would tell you what your skills currently are in the legendary leveling system. I'll have to reincarnate again after i get demi. I might consider switching to your evil one, as I just got a very nice abo torch for evil clerics.
With the new update which grants bur item able to reach +14 stats, i spent a few hours trying to refigure out a gear setup and made them with +14wisdom to get the max DC.
Here is an update gear setup for this cleric:
For non-demi lvl 60: The same gear setup as listed but u can get a randomized dim mak robes and add ur wisdom augment onto the dim mak robes.
For demis: (Since the listed gear canot fit in a +14wis bonus, I chose to use corruption cloak which has +12wis/+12dex already and -/35 elemental resistance. there's a cloak called "introweave cape" which has +12 to all stats too, it's another choice for this.)
Setup 1: Helmet: Scintilating Scarf or Coronet of Mnemosyne(this elysium helmet is perfect for this gear setup if ur lucky to get one) Armor: the Pristine Way Main hand: Tia cleric staff Off hand: Ruby rod of Asmodeus Bracer: Gaunlets of Transposed Energy Belt: Tia cleric belt Cloak: (Randomized) Corruption --- add ur wisdom augment here Amulet: Tia cleric amulet Boots: Tia cleric boots Rings: Signet of mammon + bur breach ring Bullet: Mote of Poison( if u use scintilating scarf) Mote of Power (if u use the ely cleric helmet)
Setup 2: Helmet: Helm of Zeal Armor: the Pristine Way Main hand: Tia cleric staff Off hand: Ruby rod of Asmodeus Bracer: Gaunlets of Transposed Energy Belt: Tia cleric belt Cloak: Introweave Cape --- add ur wisdom augment here Amulet: Tia cleric amulet Boots: Tia cleric boots Rings: Signet of mammon + bur breach ring Bullet: Mote of Magical deflection
After playing with Blade Barriors in LL runs for a while, I've found it quite fun. I've also seen the usefulness of it on aboleth so I'm gonna try to fit max ab on BB(blade barrior) as well as the usual evil cleric ability. This new cleric has max lore and the ability to cast all elemental damage spells(fire: firestorm, cold: icestorm, elec: call lightning, acid: melf acid arrow, sonic: word of faith). useful conjuration spells are: Blade Barrior, Storm of Vengeance. although I heard there would be some useful new conj spells added later but that is another thing.
What this build will have: --5 Cleric Epic spells ( including IOF and Annihilation) --Max Lore --Max Wisdom --3 Legendery spell focus: Evocation, Necromancy and Conjuration ( for implosion, heartbane/destruction and blade barrior, Storm of Vengeance) --2 Greater ruin per rest --Able to cast heartbane
58Cleric/1Ranger/1Monk (Ranger lvl taken before lvl 20, monk lvl taken at lvl 40) Race/Subrace Human/Rilmani Alignment: Lawful Evil (All stats bonus go to wisdom)
Concentration/Heal taken at any lvl from 1-60. discipline only at ranger and monk lvl. tumble only at monk lvl. spellcraft taken after lvl 40 otherwise u wonot have enough skill points to max discipline and tumble at lvl 40.
3>. Final saves at double demi: Fortitude: 57 Reflex: 52 Will: 77
I've eddited the evil cleric's feats a bit to get full benefit from the new feats, ie. changed Legendary Luck to Legendary Valor so this build can get 1 more fort and reflex at the cost of 1 less will(who cares will save on a caster cleric). I've also eddited the AC from 127 to 130 due to the ruby rod change.
Later I'll also add the good alignment version of the conj rilmani cleric cuz I've already seen the potential of it being coming.
Also, I've had ppl asking me about using aboleth torch instead of ruby rod. I think it's personal taste. I have both torches and did a few tests. However my cleric doesnot have any parry so even if I was holding the abo torch, gate got soaked fast. If you plan to use the abo torch, you'll need to drop 2 of ur dex or con to add into int so that u can get 63 parry. Also you'd problly swap fire domain to earth domain for stoneskin in case there's no bard song available. ruby rod has 20/+20 soak so can replace stoneskin.
Anyway here're the logs of the runs I did with ruby rod and aboleth torch:
