This is also true, but we seem to be missing the point. Its a total pain to get your hands on an Undeath to Death scroll, as compared to somethng that can be scribed easily, so it makes much more sense to take the spell when levelling.
No, probably not, and that means it may not even be worth it to take Trans at all, which frees up a ton of space in my build. If I hadn't JUST reincarnated, i would probably reincarnate again. The wall is nice, but I have a couple ideas that could be even better.
So...what was the other idea you had with this? I have always liked the idea of a PM having the badabing, or the Stripper epic just for consistency of the whole errode, drain, enfeeble, death death death PM style...but also because beating SR is one of the big tricks in the PMs bag, and doing this on the fly and not worrying about mording a party member (and then laying down a pile of wails for narguzons or some such) is nice indeed.....and now that I think of it, since curse song doesnt lower SR anymore is this more usefull, despite the horrible cramping of one use per rest?
Or did you have another epic in mind...or a pandect? I could have sworn I had Armor Skin on my PM somehow...might have dropped two int. points for this and epic warding (?) and now that the soul bind is a booster, losing one dc might not be as critical versus some more survivability with the soak and AC bonus....comments?
Oh, and seeing that there is no walling wizard or sorcerer in your ideal elysium group, would the PM be required then to have a wall somehow anyway? Sad to think that there's a run that a wizard isnt a vital part of but.....
I can reincarnate my palemaster and now I am still unsure if I should keep transmutation or not. I am thinking of using a necro or illu book instead of trans and using the feats for Luck of Hero, Maximize Spells, Epic Warding and Legendary Luck. Is that wise or stupid? Any advice? If desintegrate cant be used by a palemaster effectivly because the palemaster levels are not counted as caster levels for defeating the resistence of some monsters, transmutation seems only usefull for walls... and walls are for nessus
Another thing I am thinking about is to take necro as my specialized school and to drop enchantment and evocation. Any advice here?
You know, I like this idea of a PM only taking two epics...it at least examines the whole set in stone build concept...however if I hear another "_____ is for Nessus" I'm going to scream....epic walls are for saving your butt and another toons or two (esp. the AAs) during a surprise mob if nothing else, and I will say when the ring walls were used more, and were not two layers thick for that matter, there were more than a few players that were very precise about nipping a beast off from the rest of the party for a nice safety buffer.....miracle can be used offensively, and so can the ring wall if you really want to...divide and conquer is as old as (well...its old) and we all know how a rampaging mob, or at least a beast or two, can really take down even an experienced party.
HOWEVER...I really dont think that PMs are all that "squishy", and really if you have a mage along, which you always should, you better be sure you dont try to pop your wall up when they do.....as long as game play is able to function with more of the lawnmower effect epic walls wont be quite as important unless you are squishy I guess..but that begs the question if some save feats would be better....epic warding despite it only having a few more pts of resistance/absorbtion.....maybe epic armor skin if I even knew what that would do for a toon (is that listed somewhere or what, and does it conflict with PM armor boost?)....
Mind you, I would love to hear these evil plans that archmage has for those three feats, but......quicken maybe?
Is it allowed to post my modified transmutation less palemaster build in this thread here or do I need to post it in another thread? I really want to see what others have to say to my palemaster without wall. Its archmages build without transmutation as I think I have found some good use for the four feats.
