It is also worth noting that Auto Silent I-III allows you to cast all spells, with meta effects - empower / maximize / etc... as silent spells.

Legendary Skills: Put tumble to 30, max open lock, disable trap, search, concentration, discipline, craft armor, and spellcraft. Spend whatever skill points left at 60 on lore, and whatever else you want. Just curious, but with PM being the control class, can you get the rogue skills high enough in LL's to be effective? Also, once you get Spellcraft high enough for Greater Ruin (SC = 25) is there any reason to continue putting points into it, or could you put them into the Spot skill to help with the new secret areas? I have him at 45th level so far, and have almost 300 extra skill points waiting to spend.

Also, with 50pts in Spellcraft you get a second use of Greater Ruin, so it's worth the investment of those 25 points.

Wow! I hadn't seen the thing about elves or the Spellcraft thing! That sheds a whole new light on things. Thank you both for clarifying that. Now I have to re-evaluate my other elven toons! Or maybe I'll just stick with this PM. It certainly holds the greatest potential. Thanks for the build Mish!

This build is now x2 demi after getting tia on 2-12-09. Every run I've taken it on has been a joke, including Nessus and Elysium. (exact words were "When did Pelor die?") I had 2 minor differences on this than the posted build. First I dropped auto silent and lightning reflexes for epic wall and epic mage armor because I have an Elysium silence ring, and the second was I maxed UMD instead of lore for scroll and class/race restricted gear usage.

I'm just starting to look at my new PM build so forgive my ignorance, but why do you have to splash rogue at lvl 20 instead of 40. I understand for most builds, because you need to max the prestige lvls. but for PM there doesn't seem to be any benefit from lvl 48 to 50. Lvl 48 is your last bonus CL lvl (from 7/6 calc). Wiz lvls can be freely exchanged with PM lvls for CL purposes for those last 2 lvls.
The only think 30 PM seems to give you is lifeblight and unlimited uses of deathless touch. There are no items that require 30 pre-LL PM levels right?

You can only get 10 lvls of a pretige class (PM) pre 20. so if you want 30 lvls you cant take anything other than pm 21-40.
sub 30pm lvls hits your lich song, a few hp, death touch and lifeblight.

lifeblight is pretty powerful, since you can get several thousand hp off a mass of enemies. with full crit immune and some decent gear, you can even function as a tank for a brief period of time
the fashion conscious will want 30 pm levels just so they have visible armor as well

What helm and mote do you wear Mish. I'm trying to figure out my set up, and not thrilled with the results to date. Other than staff and belt, only have one tia item on, cloak. I can do cloak and boots, if I drop breach boots for breach ring, but hesitant to do that. I'm using scint scarf and bastion of comyr with my eramus amulet. Getting in the exotic resists and fear is just annoying. With the current setup, I'll be short con and str once I put on my stygia DC robes.

Helm of zeal, and mote of wisdom, for a nondemi I wore scint scarf and one of the 50/50/20 fear cloaks, but I wasn't thrilled with it as I was missing elemental resists.

Ah yes. Was thinking about what I do with my wizard but you are correct. Would not be nearly so helpful on a palemaster.

Well I could do scint scarf and corruption, but them I'm getting even fewer spells. What shield did you use pre-demi. Did you stick with UR ward. Bastion shield gives me fear, so that might work well with corruption. Essentially waste the overlap of 2 elem and exotic from bastion, but that's the price you pay I guess.
