extra turning mainly makes your cool down timer much faster for smiting I may be wrong, but Extra Turning has nothing to do with Smite timer. Maybe you had Extra Smiting in mind? I have little experience with pure pallies, but my CoT likes Extra Turning for more Divine Mights. However not enough to make a feat investment; there are items with Extra Turning on them e.g. the valuable Coil of Grabduk. cheers simpetar

thing is i have found that my pally with out the belt/feat has enought to not worry so it is not worth taking it as a feat and as simpetar sead there are items if you need it.

hello: This is my first post on someone Else's build , but was thinking of starting a pure paladin and was wondering about your starting stats . Your str notes a jump from 12 to 18 is this increase because your a demi , because pharlan are only +4 to str . What am i not seeing ? Build looks good ty

Build looks good ty Pharlan got +4 str but also free feats : Great STR I & II. So that's a +6 str at character creation. Norrion

Couple of notes on the "new" build 1) 16 Dex (28 with gear) isn't really that much better vs. Malebrances, which have atleast a 40 Dex check for KD. You're still atleast about 60% prone to KD. 2) Your AB is really high, you could drop the last 4 strength, dump it into dex, and then you'd have 32 Dex at the cost of 2 AB. 3) What feat is E.P.W? So confused trying to figure this one out. 4) You need points in concentration too if you don't want to always be disarmed and dazed in places like Aboleths, hells (yes, nupperibos), Elysium, and the new Catacombs of Dulvoroth to name a few

E.P.W sopose to be E.W.F (epic weapon foc) my bad fixed.
1. never sead malbs i sead erins not ment to tank malbs with out UUU. so thats not what i foc on when no uuu but i still jump on. aka learn to read the cons not pros...
2. ab on first build was 103 at x1. At x2 this toon has about the same ab...
3. no use in dex on a str tank. (wanted dex for ernis not for ac or malb prof tank...)
4. ment to put that in there only took like 20 or so on mine... but im not sure how much is needed. but thats all i ahve ever needed on mine.

1) Well, you mentioned them in your weaknesses....that you were still weak to them. I tried to help resolve that issue. In your Pros you listed that you are less vulnerable to Erinyes. In your Cons You mention Malebranches. Thank you, I read it correctly.
2) This was my suggestion to the above statement about Malebranches. Tanks really don't need more than 95AB to be fully functional especially with full Listen skill like this one. You'd still have about 100AB even dropping to 40 base strength, and you'd increase your dex check survival rate. I see no downside
3) You don't need dex for AC (you're using shield and heavier armor than light or robes) but yes, Malebranches are the bane of strength tanks. Why not try to make yourself all the better at tanking then to make yourself overall better.

well one reason that droping 4 points from str is a very bad idea is that you would not get enought str for crit imm untill you demi it. didnt (notice i had 44 str there is really 42) ( 18+10+10+4=42) (18 base + 10 great smite + 10 LL points + 4 ((every 5 lvls in LL)) = 42) droping 4 means no crit imm till demi x1. =(

You could drop Strength by 2, and Drop you Charisma to base 30 (34 with x2Demi). With a paladin that is still over 5 minutes of each after 41 paladin levels, and 16 dmg with divine might.
Just a thought, puts you at 34 Dex. with UUU outer range you'd have 42 Dex for KD checks which means you'd pass on all normal Malebranches.

I could yes but here is the thing about me and my divine tanks.
1. I think that on pallys and bg and some times CoTs your cha should hit 50 at demi x2 for the 20 divine dmg and for divine sheild with pally and bg for the +10 ac you get from it. (means when you die in hell at x1 you can make up for a lot of missing ac with out song or uef)
2. My pallys dont really need the dex when normaly I dont tank the malb unless things get ugly or bard is around. =P That or i pray i am lucky.
3. Ill tank malbs on my uni that dose not need uuu =P
not saying i am not normaly first person on the malbs that spawn in randoms or normal spawns in hell. But normaly the bard is quick enough to get to the malbs with me that I dont normaly have to worry to much about it.
