Updated main build to get 4 more AB at the cost of 2 AC, fixed epic dodge progression, and took ESF listen.

The Strongheart description requires that base STR needs to be greater than base DEX, which is not the case with this build. Sadly I conclude that (if I had one) I would not be able to wear the Strongheart amulet. Is there a wrinkle that I am not aware of?

When this build was put on paper, you could still use strongheart on dexers.

Could anyone tell me what the difference is in goin Str or dex with a rogue, other than dexer can stand up to Maelbranche without KD, and the str version can stand up to a PF without KD?

strength rogues generally do more physical damage thanks to their strength modifier, while dex rogues have higher ac with their dex modifier. a lot of rogue skills are dex-based as well

And unless you can get your base Dex score to 30 you won't be able to take the Self Concealment feats.

Hey. This is my first char on this server, and I've got the Rogue up to 32. Great build so far, loving it here! It turns out that the Air Genasi, Tiefling and Planewalker cannot use the feats as listed. At level 32, these characters will only have 28 Dex and be unable to take Self Concealment. Atleast now I get to try reincarnating! I was playing around with it a bit and I found this to be the best fit. You'll be losing Self Concealment 5 and gaining +1 STR 30 - Great Dex 2 32 - Epic Skill Focus (Disable Traps) 33 - Armor Skin 36 - Self Concealment 1, Self Concealment 2 39 - Self Concealment 3 40 - STR +1, Self Concealment 4 Is there a reason for not taking Move Silently?

Major update to the build, I have dropped the purity entirely because it just isn't fun to play, and makes a negligable contribution to the party. This build is a bit weaker defensively but does MUCH more damage, as well as having class fear immunity and a powerful buff to cast every minute. So I've gotten a lot of questions about this build, and decided to post it. My goals when making this were: Highest damage possible, good defense, at least 35 rogue levels, absurd saves, and able to open or search everywhere. AB is a little low at 96/97, but its still reasonably high for a rogue. I also wanted a little more interaction when playing, so opted get divine might. (click to enlarge) AB is 95 as shown because I opted for LSF listen instead of GWF.(A mistake I was basing off a different gear setup than I was using at the time) I also used a str arti because it was free in reinc and the stun immunity is priceless. The posted build reaches 96 AB, or 97 with a dex arti. Subrace: Half-elf Pharlan Starting stats: Stat | Start | Subrace | Level 60 with +14 | Demigod with arti | STR | 8 | 14 | 28 | 34(32withSTRarti) | DEX | 14 | 14 | 58 | 62(64withDEXarti) | CON | 14 | 14 | 28 | 32 | INT | 14 | 14 | 28 | 32 | WIS | 14 | 18 | 32 | 36 | CHA | 14 | 18 | 32 | 36 |

Very interesting. To fit Divine Might into a Rogue build is good.
What about taking Intuitive Attack (Allows you to use your Wisdom modifier for Kama) instead of Weapn finese? And going Wis-route instead of Dex-route. You would gain another +2 AB and the saves should be better alloted between reflex and will.

AB would be equal because rogues get +4 dex from LLs, and that opens up many more issues as well. (dex checks, no epic dodge, need to take ESF open lock, no pickpocket)

Ouch, dex is better, I've overseen a lot. I should not post before my first coffee of the day I guess

If you opt to use goads instead of kamas or nunchucks, you can save a feat, as they require martial instead of monk/exotic. I find that piercing tends to be a bit weaker than bludgeoning or slashing damage, but you could pick up blind fight or toughness with the freed up feat.

I will be modifying my rogue (original build on page 1) in the following way for The Abyss: - 4 LL strength swapped to Dex
That is all.
This gets 60 dex @ 2xD; with gear Parry is high enough to tank Balors if necessary. Obviously, flanking & sneaking balors is better than tanking them with this character.
It may be boring, but it does the job.

I've updated my rogue build in response to the divine might nerf, and decided to go the extreme defense route. Screenshot for now and full build to follow but I'll go over the highlights. - 140 AC with girding dual wielding, 147 with shield
- 98 AB dual wielding with monk progression, 100 with shield
- 9 attacks a round dual wielding, 5 with shield
- Maxed hide at all times regardless of penalties, and self concealment 5 for a permanent undispellable 69% concealment
- Epic Dodge
- Bluff, Pickpocket
- Unslaggable with nunchucks
- 20d6 sneaks
- lowest save is 68
- Con arti for poison immunity, fear immunity from paladin levels
- extreme gear flexibility
- can open all chests and get all secrets, once x5 demi the skill penalties are low enough to search/disable trap without GR as deep as malad. With a skill focus search item it is possible to search even in nessus without GR.
