Oki, with all those nifty traps i just couldnt resist making traper,and so figured caster bard would be ideal, lets give him some real dmg ;D
As for pre epic feats :
Lvl1 Artist then just carry on with curse,and spell focuses, which should be
ench,transmu,div,conju (and later read evocation focus book)
At epic levels take:
greater spell focuses in given schools,
spell pen,greater and epic , 4 great charismas,epic skill focus crat trap,combat and improved combat casting
As for legendary levels:
epic spell focuses (4 feats), legendary artist,
epic skill focus set trap, legendary skill focus set trap
This must be elf so you can maximize your set trap skill
So starting stats, for Elf (Shard)
Str 8
Dex 8 + 4 (sub bonus)
Con 8 + 4
Int 16
Wis 10
Cha 18+4
You will end up with 60 charisma using +14 gear and no artefact,pre demi, +14 gear is not hard to find these days ,definetly easier then cha artefact,that is so you get max possible radius on epics.
Skills
Appraise max
Concentration max
Craft trap max
Discipline i put here 15ish spare points i had just because
Perform max
Set trap max
Taunt max
Umd max
I advise you to add enough points in craft traps during pre legendary leveling so you can use one of bard bonus feats for epic skill focus craft trap, so you dont end up with something like 5 great charisma, while you only need and should have 4
Spells:
Doesnt really matter, take standard stuff like weapon buffs,mass cc,as long as you have icestorm,wail of doom,ev and gv and bestow curse
As for epics i took winter is comming and cry of heavens which most people do miss out on, but you have main things, hmr and uuu,and that handy heal spirit
Not much to say about gear setup, when you use traps switch to gaunts that drop in toyshop, that run can be easily done with lvl 48 sorc/wiz so you shouldnt have problems getting one if you dont have, not sure of name of those, arti something.
Now regarding traps, they do not take that long to have them placed, i tested them out yesterday at Tiamat run ,so 20 magic traps which take about 40 seconds to get placed almost killed one consort, which is very big so to speak so cant really have all 4 of those step on all 20 traps, but usually you will be able to lure bunch of stuff in your mine field.
If anyone is interested into making this be sure to read Sabre's faq about traps its very helpfull, each trap does about 300 dmg on failed save( dc 65 reflex) and there are trap makers for all dmg types.
You should not insist on your traps where they are waste of time,then again you can not really predict what randoms you gonna get i guess so you may wish you did place them . Use them at tricky spawn points,when you get shunt(asking cleric for mass sanc doesnt hurt either,it lasts longer then yer sanc from scrolls), you can alone proceed to for example second map of maladomini/cania and place 40ish traps in yer minute and half, while party buffs still, and get rid of that welcoming comitee there with of ease.
