OK, This was my grand experiment and I think it's pretty good so far.
The intent of it was to build a Pally Tank that could also Smite and Turn. The turning would be secondary with it able to turn to slow down mobs and improve it's tanking effectiveness and smiting capabilities... The Destroy DC is mediocre due to the Charisma not being maximized.... but it is a Tank first and foremost and there's no way to get the CHA that high......
Race- Hound Archon (I only think it's feasable to do with this race, Half-Eladrin, Pharlan and Baseborn Titan) due to the necessary WIS, CHA, STR bonuses and Smite Feats)
Here's the progression (very Simple)
39 Paladin
1 Cleric
The cleric level is done so you can pick up Evil and Destruction Cleric Domains for use in turning critters in hells. Alternately you could substitute Vermin for Destruction (which I may yet do, but sticking with Destruction for now...)
Initial Base Scores (With Subbie Bonus)
Str 14 (18)
Dx 8
Con 12 (14)
Int 14
Wis 14 (16)
Cha 15 (19)
Immediate goal for build is to pump ability points into Cha
to get it to 25 Base to Select Great Smite Feats and Wis to get it to 25 Base (for Planar Turning Feat)
Feat Selection and Progression
Feat/Stat order
Free: Extra Smiting, Power Attack, G-Smite 1
1: Blooded
1: Weapon Focus
3: Divine Might
4: Cha+1
6: Cleave
8: Cha+1
9: G-Cleave
12: Cha+1, Impr crit Morningstar
15: Toughness
16: Cha+1
18: Blind Fight
20: Cha+1 (Charisma is now 24)
21: G-Cha 1 (Charisma is now 25)
23(P): G-Smite 2
24: G-Smite 3, Wis+1
26(P): G-Smite 4
27: G-Smite 5
28: Wis+1
29(P): G-Smite 6
30: G-Smite 7
32(P): G-Smite 8, Wis+1
33: G-Smite 9
35(P): EWF
36: Armor Skin, Wis+1
38(P):Epic Prowess
39: G-Smite 10
40: Cleric, Wis+1
Once you hit the altar, your stats should be:
28/8/14/14/21/25
LLs:
42: LSA tumble, Wis+1 (take this first to use tumble skill points saved)
44: Wis+1
45: OV Crit
46: Wis+1
48: DEV Crit, Wis+1 (Wisdom is now 25)
50: Str+1
51: Planar Turning
52: Str+1
54: LWF, Str+1
56: Str+1
57: G-Str 1
58: Str+1
60: G-Str 2, Str+1
(need to get 40 Base Strength and Crit Immune by level 60!)
Level 60 Scores
Base (with Bonuses)
Str 40 (52)
Dx 8 (20)
Con 14 (26)
Int 14 (26)
Wis 25 (37)
Cha 29 (41)
Note in LL, Pally gets +1 Str and +1 Cha every 5 levels...
Skill points all spent on
Concentration
Discipline
Taunt
Parry
with extra points saved until LL to spend on Tumble after LSA Tumble is taken.
Saves at 60 are (with pally and other Save bonuses)
just don't bring it to rona....
Fort 68
Reflex 61
Will 69
AC with my mostly bur gear is 121 (no girding...)
which is what my warchanter STR tank is...
Also with Divine shield and my gear my Phys Immunities hit
67% which is pretty good.. (not quite as good as a DD but....)
Great Smite does a nice jucy Max 649 Damage
Blind Fight Feat will be obtained through the Min Pandect.
Userd the STR arty on it
Use the Enchantment Tome for the GMW improvement to +13 for Pally GMW..
Extra Turning Feat obtained through Coil of Grabduk
I also imagine the high cha would be helpful on those Brach's when they pop up.
Comments welcome
(Thanks Kobra for the Feat Progression Suggestions)
