Oh someone has, and that isn't an altogether terrible idea...though you run into the same problem with the saving throws. But at least you get the cleric buffs to counter it.

Hey guys, I'm new to the server and have always wanted to give the AA a go and will be trying this build out for my first character. Right now, since I'm new, gonna be trying the Aquatic Elf version. Can't wait to get it up and running

AA and Zen archer
My build was a 1 sorcer/10 monk/ 29 aa zen archer. I think a dex is the way to go for a AA, is much better feat wise and you get the conseal you never get that with a zen archer build. On the pro side you get better saves and a better kind of ac as you dont get hit so hard when flatfooted or flanked. when useing wisdom as you main stat.
Btw i useed a rakshase half elf as race , for the nice spell res allmost immu to imploion sat 55+ lvls most places. Zen-archer is only for some kind of cleric build useing divine might to do the damage well thats my 5 cents any way.
cheers

Hey Balduvard,
I recently read a couple of long threads extolling something along the 10 Pal/1 Sorc/29 AA line with a high Charisma for the Divine Might damage. As mentioned, at least early on, damage is low for an AA. The idea of combining high AB with high(er) damage is appealing, but I'm wondering about the hit to AC? I guess I just was wondering what you thought of the build from a vet's HG perspective?
Thanks,
Kaldair

I think it would subtract from the sustainability of the build as it would create a requirement for you to rest in order to regain your ability to use divine might. As has been mentioned before I am more of a fan of permanent bonuses that do not require you to use limited-use abilities. Also pursuing this build would be subtracting from your wisdom to add to charisma (since you will no longer have need of it for monk abilities), lowering your will save slightly.
I also think that the hit to AC would be very significant. Without the 10 levels of monk that's -2 to AC from class levels, and without the Monk AC feat that's another 8-9 AC on top of the fact that neither Paladin, Sorcerer, or AA gets tumble as a class skill--cutting your available bonus from tumble in half (+4 with 20 points). So overall you would be losing at least 14 AC...which to me just doesn't seem worth the small increase in damage granted by divine might.

Thanks Balduvard! It's exactly this kind of analytical, well thought out & well articulated response that will keep me building (hopefully better) new characters on HG until the end of it's time ...

There's something I don't understand.
You mention several times about switching to shield, however, you don't have a class that grant's shield proficiency and you don't take it as a feat.
Is there something I'm missing?
That might be a reason to take Bard. For that feat.

You gain shield proficiency with your first level of AA.

Was considering trying to get a hold of Yukio to make this build because without some real luck I doubt I am going to get Planewalker. Is the -2 Con the biggest drawback to using this Sub? Is not the addition of 2 Feats worth it?

Baldy has a couple of quotes on page two regarding the use of Yukio, I'd have a look at these before you decide.
