Thanks for the responses, definately see strategy in those choices. So you want to max umd? Any particular reason? I actually capped it at 20 and decided to max heal so my healing circles would help parties out more. Another wierd thing, i ended up with an extra feat at 60, i went with leg craft armor but it kind of freaked me out since i didnt expect it and thought i messed the build up. I took pally at 19 and monk at 20, other than that i followed the build to the letter. Hope i didnt mess it up! Also do either of you keep caster gear I.E. Harps, Horns etc on your dexers for any reasons?

The horn gives 100% sonic imm, could be handy for certain hells critters if you don't want to give up a ring slot.. ..switching out spell slot gear screws your number of spells (it takes some away when you equip and when you unequip) so bear that in mind..

I would just use a hell torch for sonic immune, for that very reason. And no, I never carry caster bard gear. The UMD would be for the crit immune ring, though I have yet to see if I can equip it while good with maxed UMD - something I plan to test when I reincarn.

You definitely can equip the crit ring while good if you max umd . . . actually I don't think you need it fully maxed to do it. I used to wear it on the original version of my dexer bard, who was still good.
Don't really use caster gear on my dexer bard either. Here's what I am using for setup (probably not the best but I have most things covered)
Armor: Silks of the Irridescent (HGwiki doesn't have an up to date SS atm)
Bracer: Masterful Performance Belt: Coil of Grabduk Amulet: Amulet of Ordered Malevolence (Asmo arti) Boots: Coalwalkers (poison immune) Cloak: Ice Reaver's Carapace (Fear immune - though in my case wis arti covers) Helm: Soul Mirror Rings: PW ring and Bur breach ring (almost always)
The only thing I think is really consistent in dex bard setups is almost everyone uses soul mirror ^_^.
-edit-
It takes somewhere around 60 - 65 UMD to wear the crit ring while good.

IMO the key to a truly great bard setup, which I don't have yet, is the cloak I'm using, since it gives you the slots you'd otherwise get from Soul Mirror - allowing you to use a Scint Scarf, for example, freeing up a belt slot.

My set up is as follows: (Dexer).
Head: Crest (for the fear immunity)/crown of uncanny stability.
Ammy: Divine intervention/ammy of the pharoh (fear immunity}
Armor: Shroud
Claok: enfolding captivation
Belt: inspiration/coil of Gabbuck/ asmos arti-serpents coil
Hands: Masterfull performace
Ring 1: Mord/Breach
Ring 2: Bur ring depending on what lvl I'm on
Feet: Ledgendary Boots of absorbtion
This is is including an alternate gear setup as well incase I limbo.
I agree with Funky, soul mirror is not needed if you have the cloak.

Some time ago i decided to try something new and make a dex bard using my only bur subby – undying. I analized forum builds, especially Funky’s and Bort’s ones posted in this thread, on which my idea is strongly based (that's why i put this build here). I had though time working on this build in test chamber and i would be very greatfull for any suggetions and comments, especially concerning feat selection. I have never played a bard on this great server so i really need some advice.
Here goes the build.
19 bard/1 pal/1 monk/19 bard
Elf - Undying
STR 8 (10) DEX 18 (20) CON 10 (14) WIS 14 (16) INT 12 (14) CHA 14 (16)
1. Artist 3. Wep. Finnese 6. Two – Weapon Fighting 9. Ambidexterity 12. Impr. TWF 15. Curse Song 18. Lingering Song
21. Gr. Dex I 24. WF Club 25. Gr. Dex II 27. EWF Club 28. Gr. Dex III 30. Armor Skin 31. Gr. Dex IV 33. Lasting Inspiration 34. Gr. Dex V 36. SF Transmutatiom 37. GSF Transmutation 39. Gr. Dex VI 40. Extra Music
42. Epic Prowess 45. ESF Transmutation 48. LSF Illusion 51. Gr. Dex VII 54. Gr. Dex VIII 57. LWF Club 60. ESF Perform
Thanks in advance.

I dont think you can have a good ac with 2 weapon fight... you can drop those 3 feats and extra music (dont think its a good idea to have this also), and dropping wep focus(club) to pre-epic and taking great dex 7 and 8 instead wep focus and extra music during epics, with that you can get spell focus on enchantment (3 feats) to get some gmw and improved critical (club) or the legendary enchantment for a full gmw. theres some good shields now, with +15 without arcane failure, u may want to use those...

Thank you for the hint. Getting esf enchantment, which would grant me buff-independence, is really tempting. Unfortunetly wearing a shield interfere with ethereal visage and cripples bard concealment. Caster shields are indeed nice but also hard to get. I was worried about my low AC but assumed that bards can relay on their EV and the AC itself isn't so bad - reaching 125 in UR/Thids gear to 130 in burs and girding (my calculations may be wrong tho). I took Wep. Focus Club during epic levels because as far as i know you have to pick wep. foci club after your first monk level if you want to benefit from wf, ewf, lwf while using cep monk weapons .

Any chance that any build ninja can take a look at this and update it? I have a 48 with this classic build that i REALLY enjoy playing. Any updates for this would make me super mega ultra happy and appreciative. Yes i know i wont ever be pri bard but man this is just a fun build !

Wonder what funky thinks of this quandry as well . . . -S I went with kamas anyway on my pixie, the better attack progression far outweighs the loss of -2. Compare ab 80 using kamas (the extra 80 is haste): 80/80/77/74/71/68 with ab 82 using non-monk tiny weapon: 82/82/77/72/67 One less attack and you still dip below the lowest ab of the kama/nunchuku/goad. The second (non-hasted) attack is the same ab, and lower after. So long as you stand decent chance of hitting on the lower attacks, kamas are definitely the way to go. Assuming you went chaos gnome, I THINK (though I haven't worked it out) that you would only need to ditch one feat, and would probably be down about 3 or 4 ab and ac. That would put your top ab at 88 or 89, which is still high enough to hit reasonably often. Probably monk weapons are still the better choice, even in hells areas. Funky I did this build and at lvl 40 all I have is 4 attacks and 3 in the offhand. How did you end up with so many attacks?

You need to wield Monk weapons and wear robes to get monk attack progression

Well I have Kamas, and all the proper feats, I think what I forgot about is the armor penalty! Thanks. Hence why I am off to gaboin to see if I can find some robes I heard about.

Hi...
Is this build still viable on Today's HG? I noticed that most of the posts were from 2008.
I am looking to rebuild my bard and I am looking for an attack bard build.
I just wanted something to compare with Balduvard's build above.
Thanks for any responses.
