AC isn't a big deal since you shouldn't be getting attacked in the first place. 102 AB unbuffed is plenty high AB. And blindfight isn't needed with maxed listen. -3 Damage per arrow when there are 7 arrows per round = 21 fewer damage per round. Seems important to me.
very nicely done Storm and I would thank the Kabold for recommending Koly for this build. . And for low AC if you can use a GS scroll it can buy you some time to reset yourself to a better position if some creature is trying to pawn you I found out.
Average damage from an arrow fired from a dusty bow with this build: 16d10 Massive Elemental Damage = 88 2d12 Mag, Neg, Piercing = 13+13+13 1d8 physical = 4.5 Imbue arrow = 15 Weap Specialization = 2 Might = 16 Average damage per arrow = 164.5 (658 on a crit)
The chance to roll a crit with 17-20 range is 20%. If 1 in 5 arrows is a crit the average damage per arrow is: [(4 arrows * 164.5 damage per arrow) + (164.5 * 4 crit muliplyer)] / 5 arrows = 263.2 damage per arrow. Multiply that by 7 arrows per round (assuming all arrows hit their targets each round) and we have 1842.4 damage output per round.
For a build with the minimal 25 strength for Dev Crit the mighty would 3 less. So total average damage per arrow, taking into account critical hits, is: [(4 arrows * 161.5 damage per arrow) + (161.5 * 4 crit muliplyer)] / 5 arrows = 258.4 damage per arrow. Multiply that by 7 arrows per round and we have 1808.8 damage output per round.
So the difference between a +16 mighty and +13 mighty is 33.6 fewer damage per round on average. This is a 1.82% decrease in damage.
Numbers aside, for a build that doesn't need more AC, a build that doesn't need more AB, a build that doesn't need blindfight, a build that doesn't need more HP ... having more damage per round on average is plenty worth it for me.
Undying revisions for the Kolyarut impaired... Erinyes would work too with some changes..

Artifact: Tear of Selune (Speed), Mask of Vhaerun (Dex)? Pandect: Improved Sneak Attack, Craft Weapon?
Notes: Demi x1 is the worst thing I ever did to my AA, so AB is less than the Kolyarut version... If you go demi x2 the AB will go up 4 by modifying the level-up stat distribution... I posted this because I actually like Storms build, I just can't justify trading for Koly when I just used an Undying book... Also, you could replace rapid shot with a pandect, but there's only like weapon finesse and improved initiative left for feats I think... expertise possibly.. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
With your updated build the title should be changed to "Storm's Devastating Archer (30AA / 9Ftr / 1Wiz)" shouldn't it? Also for folks that don't have access to Kolyarut I'd seriously suggest using the much maligned Half-Guardinal for this build as you will come very close to the stats you get with Koly but you'll get Evasion meaning significantly less AoE damage in a lot of situations.
I have what might be some dumb questions. I just reincarnated my AA last night and struggled to come up with the starting stats listed so am not sure if they are exact or I am doing something wrong. I also tried both elf and half-elf because I wasn't sure if it was doable on one but not the other.
For Elf: Elf is +2 dex, -2 con so is the 16 dex, 12 con before this adjustment or after?
Oh I used to be disgusted and now I try to be amused.
