Dev Crit Spear Master (Pure Level 60 Ranger)

OK I have a few builds I have been meaning to post for some time so since I can't sleep and have nothing better to do I figured now would be as good a time as any.

This is my Pure Level 60 ranger Build. Basically I won a Helm with OC and DC Spear on it (Guratz Abysal Helm) in a loot split and made a Ranger build around the Helm.

Subrace: Wemic

STR +4, DEX +6, CON +2, WIS +2, CHA -4
Weapon Finesse, Called Shot, Epic Skill Focus: Hide, Taunt and Listen.

Rangers if pure get Improved Evasion and a total of +4 to CON (1 every 5 Legendary Levels)

Thanks to Sabregirl and Starlandra for being patient and answering my dumb questions about Rangers when I was trying to sort this build out.

Why Wemic and not Salamander?

Some comments on the build, or rangers in general, just because I've been messing around with ranger builds recently and want to get these ideas down:
---- Both Wemic and Sally are large size which means you'll want large-size weapons to avoid the damage penalty. As far as I can tell the only large-size weapons you can dual-wield are spears and tridents. That makes this build pretty much perfectly optimized, there's very little room for improvement. Spears are also pretty easy to come by.
---- If you use Koly you can use medium-size weapons without a damage penalty. The obvious choice there is of course katanas, using stygian razor in the offhand. If you want a medium size ranger and don't want to spend a feat for exotic weapon proficiency (or can't get your hands on those high-demand katanas), then your next best choice is probably battleaxe or warhammer. Heavy pick would be nice but you can't dual-wield them for some reason, even as a large toon.

Well I used spears cause I got hold of a Helm with Dev Crit Spear on it and wanted to make use of it, I used Wemic cause I can craft the armour u can't on a Sally

Oh snap you're right Torin, they are medium which changes my build options somewhat.

So basically if you wanted a large dual wielding str ranger you're stuck with wemic and spears... not too many options to choose from! I guess you could do Juggernaut too, basically would trade a Pre-epic feat (due to CS feat) and some Dex for permanent waterbreathing and a bit of permanent crit immunity for the times when your zombieness drops.

Let's face it there aren't as many tridents out there as spears, and finding an item with OC/DC trident is going to be a lot harder than picking up a Grazz't helm. Plus you can use anbaric lance with a decent AB.

Just thinking aloud.... Trying to come up with a good ranger that hasn't already been done. Dual-spear Wemic or Dual-katana Kolyarut -- Or shortbow Zen.... Strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate.

There is always Mino or Drider, you just have to trade in maxing stuff for looking kewl

I have started levelling a Jugger version and from my build sheet it does not turn out too different to the wemic one. It's graphics do look a little weird when it fights - lol - dunno how well it will fare in the end but it doing fine atm. AC and Saves are the issue for the build mainly.
