After reading the recent changes made to arcane archers, i decided that i would get my old planewalker AA out of retirement and tried to build a new one around the 30 AA lvls thing.
I first tried to update my old build (a version of flurry of arrows) but was unsatisfied with the results. I couldn't fit all the feats i wanted and then, decided to drop the 5 self-concealment feats.
I figured that spending 5 feats for something that you could easily get with a displacement / camo is quite expensive.
Instead of planewalker, i went with Stargazer. A nice thing is that, stargazer having the defensive roll feat for free and 9 levels of monk granting us improved evasion, we have access to Epic Dodge.
Here is the build :
Subrace :
Elf - "Stargazer" (secret UltraRare)
- FCs: Wizard, Cleric
- INT +4, WIS +4, CHA -2, free feat: Spell Focus - Divination, free feat: Defensive Roll
Starting stats :
Str 8
Dex 18
Con 14
Wis 16 (20)
Int 8 (12)
Cha 8 (6)
Progression : 9 monk, 1 wizard, 30 arcane archer
Stat increases : all in dex
Pre-epic feats :
Blooded
Weapon focus : longbow
Point Blank Shot
Thoughness
Great fortitude
Improved critical (longbow)
Rapid Shot
Epic feats :
Armor Skin
Great Dexterity I, Great Dexterity II
Great Dexterity III
Great Dexterity IV
Epic Weapon Focus : longbow
Great Dexterity V
Great Dexterity VI
Great Dexterity VII, Epic Prowess
ESF Listen
Great Dexterity VIII
Legendary Feats :[/u]
LSA Tumble
Legendary Weapon Focus (longbow)
Epic Dodge
Epic Will
Legendary Fortitude
Great Dexterity IX (or LSF Listen, depending on your gear/preference)
Great Dexterity X (or free feat)
Skills : Max craft armor (or craft weapon, up to you) and listen on AA levels. Max Craft armor (or CW), listen, discipline and tumble on monk levels.
In LL, max tumble (after LSA tumble, of course) and spend the rest in discipline (using the elf ability to max cross-class skills in LL). You should be able to take more than 50 ranks in discipline (have to check, will put the exact number later) with the bunch of skills points left.
Artefact : Dexterity
Stats at 60, choosing craft armor over craft weapon, pre-demi, without dex arti :
99 AB unbuffed (103 buffed)
18-20 crit range
High listen skill
30 lvls of AA (16d10 elemental damages using DB bows, 14d10 exotic/elemental damages using phleg bows)
Keep in mind that, with damages being now integrated, they are multiplied on crit
130 AC without song/girding (in BUR gear tho)
Epic dodge (makes you avoid the first successful attack every round)
Make sure to get a displacement/camo from a friendly caster and you should survive just fine.
Ability to cast from scrolls
896 hp
Saves :
F 65
R 70 + (will put the exact number asap)
W 61
Help and comments welcome !
