This is a Quasiclass based on the art of illusion and Beguiling mobs and there surroundings.
Sorcerer/Shadow Dancer Must have greater Spell focus in Illusion and 10 lvl in Shadow Dancer before lvl 21.
Once they once they meet the require ment they recieve an item that alters the Illusion Spells of Shadow conjurations to use DC's based on Illusion school instead of original schools. Caster lvls are determined by Sorc+SD lvls

I think that this is a well-developed idea. But, I feel that there is a lack of a backround, or a rolplaying reason. It shouldn't be difficult to make, as its your idea. I can think of a number of diffrent routes but I'm not too sure. I.e., Is he a playfull gnome who stumbled onto shadow dancers? Or an average SD who found her affinity for spells and used it? I always just see it as having either sd or sorceror major and the other minor - just as a way to enhance his primary class. Is this how its meant to be or...?
P.S. What will his/her role be in combat? I recall that controlling mobs can be very usefull (recently I was partied with both a major bigby guy, and also we picked up a vampyre and controlled it) but wont it be very limited?

I never really though of a background of it, I was looking at the illusion school of make one day on the wikki and found that the conjuration spells has a "wierd" aspect to then that you basically needed 3 spell schools to make 1 work to it's fullest potentional. So I then began to think up a Quasi-Class idea to go with it that would allow a toon to not need the other 3 or 3 schools to really impact illusion. I have even been trying to plan a build around the use of this school.
As to his combat roll he would be in the same area as most support toons in the back. The ability to dominate and control foes would come in handly, but for balance reasons I think it will have to last a short time or the foe could make continued save checks simular to hoow CoB works for stunning.

Well, I think that it should be aoe effects, or maybe varying shapes (cone, etc) , and I think that on average there is a 50% for teh average monster to resist, becaues then it would be prety fun to watch... maybe time based on the number of enemies? i.e. if you effect 3 enemies it last 10 rounds, but if you effect only 1 it is 30 rounds?

I think having lvl 9 spells might make it a little overpowered.. Instead of sorcerer, why not make it bard and have the bard's song abilities morphed into illusion-like abilities?

To be honest with you I'd love to see this as a bard since it seems much more fitting in terms of the build premise.
The only reason for sorc is that the illusion school shadow conjuration spells are not included in the bard spell list. Now if this quasi-class takes off into something that funky may do maybe he will have the requirement be bard and give them the abilities to use the conjuration spells & wierd.
