So, I've been playing this amazing campaign called Midnight for D&D 3.0 and I'm really enjoying this prestige class I thought might make a great quasiclass. Here is the Pellurian Blade Dancer I've linked from the online Midnight Source Page.
First off, I know that the prestige class doesn't translate very well directly into NWN or HG. What I like about it is the concept.
A master of using effortless, fluid movement to dance around their enemies, attacking them from any direction possible with the swing of their blade. The PBD actually Two-Hands either a Falchion or Greatsword, and is able to finesse it, as long as they don't wield a shield or having heavier than light armor equipped.
I kind of tried to make it out to be sort of a Fighter and Bard variant. Fighters get more fighting abilities while Bards would get some bonuses to Charm, Hold, Confuse, Fear etc. Not sure how viable that is, but I thought f it could be done it would be cool.
Prerequisites:
To become a Pellurian Blade Dancer you must have 14 levels of Fighter and at least 10 levels of Bard before level 24.
Weapon Finesse
Weapon Focus in a Slashing Weapon that you wield 2handed (that way this applies to small creatures and katanas, bastard swords etc)
GSF Illusion
Dodge, Mobility
15 Perform
15 Tumble
15 Parry
(I understand that's a lot of requirements, but it's all just some suggestions)
Restrictions:
Upon becoming a Pellurian Blade Dancer, you are able to finesse Falchions and Greatsword. You lose your PBD abilities if you have a shield equipped or wearing heavier than light armor.
The Pellurian Blade Dancer's Strength must not be higher than it's Dexterity.
You may not have any Harper Scout Levels
The PBD uses 5/6 Fighter Levels towards bard levels for the purposes of the following spells:
Level 1:
True Strike: Duration becomes 1Turn(Round?)/CL, Gives you LBAB Fighter like Tenser's.
Expeditious Retreat
Magic Weapon
Charm Person - Dazes, receives +1DC / 5 Bard Levels (PBD only)
Level 2:
Heroism
Deafening Clang
Know Vulnerabilities*
Blindness/Deafness
Darkness
Silence
Hold Person - When cast as a PBD with atleast 21 Bard Levels, becomes Entrance and the target is unable to move (dominate effect?) for Turn/CL or something.
Cloud of Bewilderment
Level 3:
Displacement
Greater Magic Weapon
Keen
Charm Monster
Confusion - ignores mind imm, or something requires CC Bard
Fear - ignores fear/mind imm requires CC Bard
Level 4:
Shout
War Cry
Dominate Person
Hold Monster
Level 5:
Improved Heroism
Ethereal Visage
Wounding Whispers
Healing Circle
Level 6:
Energy Buffer
Mass Haste -
Mass Fox's Cunning
Mass Owl's Wisdom
Mass Bull's Strength
Mass Eagle's Splendor
Mass Cat's Grace
A PBD with 20 Fighter Levels (not including LL) receive an extra 2AB and deal 10% extra physical damage against any enemy the cast Know Vulnerabilities on. (Some sort of extra damage versus the creature they cast it on, because they know where it's vulnerable)
A PBD with 25 Fighter Levels(not including LL), the Warrior's Whetstone recieves the Improved Keen Ability, and will cast an improved version of Keen that works the same as Improved Critical (7WM Feat) when used on their Falchion or Greatsword
A PBD with 30 Fighter Levels (not including LL), receives a token that grants them 2 extra attacks per round much like the harper scout boots. This only works when wielding a Falchion or Greatsword
Level 40 PBDs(not including LL) receive Epic Dodge, much like a fighter, even if they do not have 30Fighter levels.
Still a work in progess...
Love it? Hate it? Comments, suggestions, ideas all appreciated
