We're looking to add some additional items. They will NOT be added as BURs, but should be BUR quality. What we'd like is for you all to design a BUR that would be perfect for one of your favorite builds - slightly improving your overall gear setup, without doing anything too crazy. You can put properties on an item type that doesn't typically get them, but if you do so you should exercise moderation. To help you design an item that actually stands a chance of being used, you should do the following;
1) Describe or link to the build you're using. The description doesn't have to be too long, but should include class breakdown and any build choices that distinguishes it from other similar class breakdowns (str/dex, for example).
2) List your gear setup. Just names of the the inventory slots and the names of the items in them is enough.
3) The properties of the item you currently have in the slot you're making the new item for. If a ring, list the ring you would be removing.
4) The properties of the new item you are proposing. Feel free to explain how it improves your gear setup, but you don't have to.
You don't HAVE to do steps 1-3, if you just want to suggest something, but if it's overpowered as a result of you not following the above process, the odds are I will just delete the post. Basically, this is your chance to fill that problem area in your gear setup that's been nagging you. Feel free to submit as many as you like, but if they aren't designed for different builds, the odds of more than one being added are slim.
Thanks!
Funky

I guess I will be first....
1) The build is slightly changed version of Yue's Steadfast Curate build, mine has Greater Ruin capability off finger.
2) Helm: Empty Armor: Pristine Way Cloak: Tia Cleric Bracers: Bracers of Resilience (Sissy Tag) Belt: Tia Cleric Amulet: Tia Cleric Boots: Tia Cleric Primary Hand: Tia Cleric Off Hand: Asmo Rod Rings: As appropriate
3) No properties at the present because the item slot is empty currently
4) Cleric Helmet
Spell Slots x3 for spell levels 3-6 -/20 Magic Resistance -/20 Divine Resistance -/20 Negative Energy Resistance -/20 Positive Energy Resistance Spell Immunity: Bigby 9th Spell Immunity: Bigby 8th Spell Immunity: Bigby 7th Spell Immunity: Bigby 6th Spell Immunity: Timestop Use Clear Sequencer Unlimited Use Sequencer (1 Spell) Unlimited
This item enhances the build capability by adding additional spell slots, it covers a weakness in the gear set up which is resistance and the spell sequencer will help with group buffs demanded from the cleric, IE Undeath Eternal Foe... although the scroll isnt as good as the Asmo Helms UEF but the positive would be that those spell slots can now be dedicated to offense instead of buffing.
I do not see why any cleric except battle clerics using the warhammer would not want to use such an item since it increases spell slots and thereby gives more flexibility in gear set up.
Second item....
1) The build is a Human version of Calad's Elvish Perfection rogue build.
2) Helm: To Reign in Hell Armor: Panoply of Lliira Cloak: Cloak of the Unjust Bracers: Bracers of Resilience (Sissy Tag) Belt: Teldar's Toolbelt of Honing Amulet: Amulet of the Pharoah Boots: Legendary Boots of Absorption Primary Weapon: Dis Katana Off-Hand: The Gleaming Glint Rings: As appropriate
3) I would like to upgrade the UR small shield (Gleaming Glint)
Armor Bonus: +16 (AC Shield Modifier) Damage Immunity: Acid 10% Immunity Damage Immunity: Bludgeoning 5% Immunity Damage Immunity: Cold 10% Immunity Damage Immunity: Electric 10% Immunity Damage Immunity: Fire 10% Immunity Damage Immunity: Piercing 5% Immunity Damage Immunity: Slashing 5% Immunity Damage Immunity: Sonic 10% Immunity Improved Saving Throws: Universal +5 Light Bright (20M) Blue
4) BUR Small Shield
Armor Bonus: +15 (AC Shield Modifier) Damage Immunity: Acid 10% Immunity Damage Immunity: Bludgeoning 5% Immunity Damage Immunity: Cold 10% Immunity Damage Immunity: Electric 10% Immunity Damage Immunity: Fire 10% Immunity Damage Immunity: Piercing 5% Immunity Damage Immunity: Slashing 5% Immunity Damage Immunity: Sonic 10% Immunity Improved Saving Throws: Universal +5 Light Bright (20M) Blue -/20 Magic Resistance -/20 Divine Resistance -/20 Negative Energy Resistance -/20 Positive Energy Resistance Spell Immunity: Bigby 9th Spell Immunity: Bigby 8th Spell Immunity: Bigby 7th Spell Immunity: Bigby 6th Spell Immunity: Timestop
The shield strengthens the defensive capabilities of the character by adding exotic resistances and enemy caster's bigby attacks and timestops. Basically the item is an augmented Gleaming Glint with exotic resistances and specific spell immunities.
As far as other character usage, I believe that the small shield is adequate as a BUR and would probably be a shield of choice for dex tank builds....aka Rogues, Dex Bards, Dex Assassins, Dex Fighters, Melee Dex Rangers... characters who are looking for a bit more AC protection when not dual wielding weapons.

4) More spell slots (2 of each level), -/40 Resist to Exotic (All) and/or Elemental (All) and I would like to have an unlimited spell sequencer (1, 2 or 3 spells) as a helmet. Please bear in mind that these items are BURs, not artifacts. That is to say, our general guidelines say BURs cap out at 20/- to exotics (more for negative) and between 30/- and 50/- to elements (depending on how many elements the particular BUR covers). They also don't tend to give more than +17 Dodge/Deflection/Natural AC (shields and armor being a more special case), and we did just complete a significant update to make sure there weren't items that covered both exotic and elemental resists (though I would probably make an exception for an upgraded resist ring like the Dachy/Illithid ones). The sequencer is an interesting idea, although for a BUR I would think a few uses per day of higher-level sequencing, similar to the Susurrus, would be better. Lastly, we tend to avoid making random loot chock-full of spell slots, leaving those to more set loot (not that that's as firm a guideline as the resists, so I'm not giving this as an objection so much as a comment). You can see this by comparing the Maladomini plate with the Plate of Anubis - you get a unique power with Anubis, but the Masterwork Plate of Manus has many more spell slots. Oh, and a personal thing. Please try to keep the regen down. Some people automatically add +10 regen to every BUR they make. There's a reason it's the most valuable property in the game (and if you don't believe me, note that Falcon's Ache, the Elysium +50 regen ring, is so valuable it requires 125 Lore to ID it). Acaos

you do have burs with +2 slots to level 8 and 9 spells though, so it could be altered to that to fit with other guidelines.

My current favorite characer is my Lifetrheader. When the quasiclass first came out I immediaetly wanted to build one but never seemed to get around to it. After doing numerous Hell runs with Yomi's Threader I decided to build one and absolutely love it. 1. I am using Yomi's Light-Weight Threader build. 2. My current setup is Shroud of the Earth Mother, Tia Belt, Cloak, Boots and Amulet, Golden Guard Bracers, Asmo Shield, Helm of Zeal and Dis Sickle. My ring combos depend on the run. 3. The propeties of the Shroud of the Earth Mother are: Base AC 1 Max Dex Bonus 21 Armor Bonus 21 2x level 3 and 4 Ranger spells 15% Physical Immunity 25% Fire, Cold, Acid and Sonic Immunity +12 Str, Con and Wis +25 Discipline and Animal Empathy Improved Saves +8 True Seeing 4. My proposed "BUR quality" Item: Threads of Life Base AC 1 Max Dex Bonus 21 Armor Bonus 17 Usable only by a Lifethreader 15% Physical 30/- Physical 4x 7, 8 and 9, 2x 4, 5 and 6 Cleric Spells Immunity: Fear +12 Str, Dex and Int +20 Concentration, Heal and Disicpline 1/2 Kickback I considered putting the spell slots at 2x 7, 8 and 9, 1x 4, 5 and 6 after reading Acaos' post about spell slots on BURs versus Set items. However after rereading Funky's post that they will NOT be added as BURs I thought perhaps they might be considered as Set items so I bumped up the slots. My current setup works very well but my biggest problem has always been, and will continue to be, kickback (hence my willingness to grossly overpay for a SIlver Nimbus...shameless plug). I recognize the 30/- would make it the highest physical resist in the mod (that I am aware of). That along with the halving of Kickback is why I would limit the armor to Lifethreader quasiclasses. I added the Fear Immunity almost as an after thought as it would allow me to consider other Bracers. (Thanks Star...my previous Helm did not have it which is why I had been using the Bracers...that and they are nice.) I also added the +12 to Int though it seems out of place...mainly because my setup does not hit +12 Int. +12 to Wis seems more appropriate. Peace, John.

One of the things I noticed on my bfm is that there are not a lot of good shields available. I can use a normal shield, and incur spell failure, which at times makes me want to hurl my sewing machine at a window in frustration, or use a dis, ur, or BUR casting shield which does not provide NEARLY enough AC for tanking purposes. The asmo shield is an obvious choice, but I would really like there to be something in between a +14 total AC shield and a +22 total AC shield with 0% spell failure. Even casting bfms have this dilemma, if they wear armor, they need a shield that will let them cast and provide at least adequate stability. I would imagine PMs without the auto-still feat line would fall into this ditch as well. Case 1: An old version of the burninator: highergroundpoa.proboards3.com/index.cgi?board=builds&action=display&thread=6905&page=1My casting bfm's setup at the moment is: Head: Elemental Crown Armor: Scales of the dragonborn Shield: Rampart of the pact primeval (used impasse before demi) Amulet: tia Boots: tia, sometimes swapped to breach Belt: tia Cloak: tia Gloves: Transposed Energy Weapon: Styg fan Rings vary according to the area he is in. Case 2: something similar to Zerragon's Incinerator, but with a multitude of modifications. highergroundpoa.proboards3.com/index.cgi?board=builds&action=display&thread=9780&page=1My tank bfm's setup at the moment is: Head: Elemental Crown (Will upgrade to helm of Zeal) Armor: Mail of Cruriel Norhorn Shield: Dire buckler (spell failure ) Head: Elemental Crown Amulet: tia Boots: Mordenkainen's Mockery Belt: UR sorc belt Cloak: Rona cloak Gloves: Amnizu Gloves Weapon: Dis Greatsword The weakness of both setups, pre demi is the shield. The dire buckler, while it gives physical resistance, and a small degree of immunity, it incurs spell failure. The impasse shield gives +10% elementals and some spells, but it's main failing is only giving a +14 AC, which can be murder for a tank, or even a caster without a high concealment, bfms only get 50-55 from displacement. The Amnizu gloves don't really get me anything other than some div and DEX, but I can swap to transposed energy. Of course, this renders me with no exotic resists, which would be covered by the asmo shield. I don't like dependance on a single item, so I propose: Screen of the Burning Wyrm: Large shield (base AC 2) AC enhancement + 14 (total AC 16, equivalent of an UR shield) -15% spell failure (0% total) 30% fire immunity 15/- Divine, Positive, Magical, Negative. +12 Dexterity +12 Charisma +20 Concentration +20 Discipline Note: this shield does NOT allow safe casting of etherial visage, Premonition, or greater stoneskin.

1): My Pariah, Grappy. 20 Barb/20 Sorc (CC Barb) Caster
2): Head: Helm of Zeal Chest: Bastion of the Fallen Lord (mainly sonic) Boots: Aasgart's Aversion Arms: Golden Guard Right Hand: Staff of the Axerian Grandmaster Left Hand: Pyroclastic Flow or Wings of the Storm Cloak: Cloak of the Axerian Grandmaster Left Ring: Mallek's Rebuke Right Ring: Universal Contumacy Neck: Spectre's Necklace Belt: Belt of the Axerian Grandmaster
3): Aasgart's Aversion ----- This item will lower the concealment of any Ethereal Visage, Assassin Impreoved Invisibility or Monk Empty Body effect on the wearer by 10% ----- This item will protect the wearer from breach spells while worn
Armor Bonus +16 (AC Dodge Modifier) Damage Immunity: Bludgeoning 5% Immunity Bonus Damage Immunity: Piercing 5% Immunity Bonus Damage Immunity: Slashing 5% Immunity Bonus Haste Improved Saving Throws: Universal +2 Skill Bonus: Discipline +5 Spell Resistance: 24
4): <Enter Item Name> ----- This item will lower the concealment of any Ethereal Visage, Assassin Improved Invisibility or Monk Empty Body effect on the wearer by 10% ----- This item will protect the wearer from breach spells while worn ----- This item will protect the wearer from festering (can this be done?) ----- You must have 15 or less base Dexterity in order to use this item
Armor Bonus +17 (AC Dodge Modifier) Damage Immunity: Bludgeoning 5% Immunity Bonus Damage Immunity: Piercing 5% Immunity Bonus Damage Immunity: Slashing 5% Immunity Bonus Damage Resistance: Bludgeoning Resist 15/- Damage Resistance: Piercing Resist 15/- Damage Resistance: Slashing Resist 15/- Enhancement Bonus: Intelligence +12 Haste Improved Saving Throws: Universal +5 Skill Bonus: Discipline +10 Skill Bonus: Intimidate +10 Skill Bonus: Taunt +10
Reason: missing physical resist from the setup. (could use gauntlets of transposed energy, but im more of an immunity kinda guy) protection from fester cause us Pariahs value our regen highly.
Side Note: considered putting 10% phys imm, but i think that is a lil over powered. the breach could be easily changed to mord so that it isnt too close to the bur breach boots.

I've given a look over my characters and have seen one item I'd really like to have on one of them. It is my Strength ranger, my own design, but mirrors the build from lythe featherblade found here pretty closely, I just sacrificed a little strength to have a starting intelligence of 14, so as to have maxed listen. Equipment-wise, I use the keynary woodsman's leather, the Position of Strength helm, gauntlets of transposed energy, the Ranger's Medal, Nature's Writhing Waistband (ur ranger belt), and Aasgart's Aversion (ur breach boots) together with the Asmo cloak for exotic and elemental resists. I’d appreciate a belt to substitute the ur belt, which while not a bad ur, lets a lot to be desired for the endgame. Maybe something like 20/- Physical Resists 2 Ranger Spells from lvls 1 to 4 +12 to 2 abilities (I’d love for them to be Int and Char, but I really think Con and Wis would be more appropriate.) And maybe some special power on pair with what you get from the inspiration belt, but more rangerish. Maybe once/rest you can ignore critical immunity on a non-boss/miniboss favored enemy for 10 rounds. Or if you think that is too powerful, a bonus to some rangers skills, like set traps, listen, hide, etc. Alternatively, a bur version of the keynary, with some physical resists, would be great too. Well, you said only 1, so I’ll stop here. Take care Kaezar

Here's an idea (or rather a set of 'em ): 1. Hybrid Staffmaster (15wiz/45wm, uses quarterstaves). 2: Gear - Current (optimal) Head: Hood of Axundir (Scint Scarf) Body: Robes of Triel Ysmathir (Panoply of Lliira) Belt: Ainafea's Masterwork Belt Amulet: Nature's Squirming Coil Gloves: Legendary bracers of Resillience (unsure, would like something similar, or that covers any missing stats) Boots: Boots of the Axerian Grandmaster (good now, Styxwalkers once Demi) Cloak: Cloak of the Axerian Battlecaster (Cloak of the Unjust or Cloak of the Elements) Ring 1: UR Breach, or Ely Cold/Breach if in a cold area (area-appropriate Ely breach) Ring 2: BUR Mord, or UR/BUR immunity ring, depending on the situation (see below). Pros: Good overall setup with plenty of elemental immunity and resistance. Cons: Next to no exotic immunity. 4: Proposed item: <insert name here> --- This item will protect the user from any Mord spells targeted at him/her. --- Requires tag.
Special Properties: - Damage Immunity: (Divine, Magic, or Positive, or possibly one of the new types, depending on the ring) 25%.
(maybe also add 10% to all elements, bringing it in line with the current BUR mord/breach rings) Reasoning: This will allow my staffmaster (and other buff-dependent classes) to have at least some exotic protection while keeping mord/breach protection, without having to wear an asmo artifact. --Arek

Dunno if I should be making suggestions to people posting above or not ... @ Stoney Maybe a higher base armour bonus (2 or 3) could get you slightly higher physical immu and add in your desired Silver Nimbus ring. Asmo Ammy (artifact) is the only item in the game with 30/- phsyical DR. @kc My immortal Pariah uses: - Plate of the Legendary Master -> Asmo Armour - the BUR small mage shield (name forgotten) - Scarf/Zeal - Tia sorc staff, belt, amulet & cloak - Audacious Provocation -> Gauntlets of Transposed Energy - BUR Breach boots - rings as needed ... and I think I have everything covered. For my own submission ... (sorry, not posting monk or rogue-aa): 1) My RDD is based upon the old, "obsolete", over-looked jewel: Dusty's Pal, modified for my own taste to use Half-Guardinal @ Bd4-Pal6-RDD50. This is a very robust hell tank despite being "a crap" BUR subrace, and is immune to all hell ability score checks from P1 or lower mobs except dex (30 @ 2xD). 2) Gear: - Grazzt's Abyssal Helm - Chainmail of the Weave - Greatsword of choice (Dis, Sissy or Malad) with spear and morningstar if needed - Wings of the Storm - Amulet of the Pharoah - Asmo Cloak - Gauntlets of Transposed Energy - BUR Breach boots - rings as needed - Greater Psi Actuator (wish I could use Coil of Grabduk ) 3) Greater Psi Actuator (my build lacks +12 Dex, Con and Wis without this item, also lacks 20/- Exotic DR -- but has 15/- from Asmo Cloak). Coil of Grabduk gives +12 Dex/Con, but not Wisdom. - Str, Dex, Con, Int, Wis, Cha +12 - Discipline +20 or 25 4) as Coil Of Grabduk but added - Wisdom +12 Perhaps this submission was a bit mickey-mouse. My Theurge: Standard 13wiz/26Clr/1Mnk
Gearset: Visor of Vigilance Full Tia Set Wrap of Fistandantilus Torch of Absorption Ring Slots Empty
Currently the Biggiest Hole in his setup is lack Ele/Exotic resist. This was originally covered by the previous Helm version. Granted I know I could work the gear a bit better. Anyway for my suggestion How about a Theurge Helm with +12 INT/WIS. Currently the Wraps are only for the extra wiz slots and +12 INT.
So Basically a Helm with +12 INT/WIS with some amount of Exotic resist. Would Prefer 15/- to all. As for any other special properties Maybe ESF: Heal/Conc

1) Using my Tin Chanter Warchanter build posted on the forums 2) Using Soul Mirror Helm, Ice Reavers Carapace Cloak, Belt of Legendary Resilience, Legendary Boots of Absorption, Chain of Solidarity Ammy, Dire Buckler Shield, Masterful Performance Bracers, bur immunity rings, Plate of the Legendary Master 3) Would be interested in 2 items... Removing Legendary Plate of the Master Removing Soul Mirror Helm 4. Replace Legendary Plate with Mythical Mail of the Chanter Splint Mail +18 AC Bonus Feat: Lasting Inspiration Damage Immunity :30% Bludgeoning Damage Immunity :30% Piercing Damage Immunity :30% Slashing Strength +12 Charisma +12 Immunity: Death Magic Immunity: Knockdown Immunity: Level Drain Immunity: Mind Affecting Spells Immunity: Sneak Attack Improved Saving Throws Universal: +5 Skill Bonus: Taunt +15 Skill Bonus: Concentration +15 Skill Bonus: Parry +15 Skill Bonus: Discipline +15 Skill Bonus: Craft Weapon +15 Skill Bonus: Craft Armour +15 Skill Bonus: Perform +15 Spell Immunity: Time Stop Spell Failure Bonus: Reduce % chance Arcane of Spell Failure 35% True Seeing Basically, my thoughts on this item are that a Warchanter is basically a STR Bard and due to the requirements of the Class, really has no ability to get Lasting Inspiration as a Feat unless they take Shard as a Class- which then comprimises their ability and STR as a tank , which I feel it is primarily. Also due to the limited number of spells, the heavy plate and shield basically end up eating up 1/2 the limited number of spells the bard can cast due to arcane spell failure so a reduction in this would help make the spells somewhat more useful. Replace Soul Mirror with Mantra of the Chanter Armour Bonus +17 (deflection) Damage Immunity: 5% Bludgeoning Damage Immunity: 5% Piercing Damage Immunity: 5% Slashing Bonus Spell Slot Bard 1 Bonus Spell Slot Bard 1' Bonus Spell Slot Bard 2 Bonus Spell Slot Bard 2 Bonus Spell Slot Bard 3 Bonus Spell Slot Bard 3 Bonus Spell Slot Bard 4 Bonus Spell Slot Bard 4 Bonus Spell Slot Bard 5 Bonus Spell Slot Bard 5 Bonus Spell Slot Bard 6 Bonus Spell Slot Bard 6 Constitution +12 Intelligence +12 Regeneration +5 Perform +15 Taunt +15 Feat: 3 Extra Uses Bard/Curse Song Feat: Artist (adds 2 Casterlevel to Bard/Curse Song) Basically this would be bur version of Soul Helm that provides broader range of additional spell slots (although lower number of spells for some levels), a boost to the number or bard/curse songs available and an enhancement to the power of the warchanters bard/curse song. As a Strength Bard, the song/curse capabilies are a bit more crippled and due to lower cha score and number of DD levels taken for a STR Bard along with the limited number of uses of song which would be available. I think these types of items and gear if made available would help increase the feasability of building a warchanter and make them more of a viable class than they currently are, without having to totally overhaul the class from it's current state. Also having 2 items makes it a little more feasable to implement some of this as opposed to adding it all onto 1 item which would probably be shot down. Also makes for 2 items to have to obtain to get the benefits... PS- The above would be restricted to Warchanters for use (or bards?) SoC
