Hello. So recently I installed Neverwinter again after uninstalling and having a pretty long break, everything runs really smoothly even on max settings until creatures spawn, one or two is enough to make the game stutter and lag and a couple of more makes it almost unplayable. I have tried putting my settings to the lowest possible and still no difference, not that it should be the problem anyway since I have a relatively high end computer and was running perfectly fine pre-break. Anyone had the same problem, or a solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated since ive now turned 40 and I dread the thought of mass spawning desert runs.

I highly recommend defragging your hard drive. That often resolves problems with spawn lag.

Is it a Dual Core machine and if so have you tweaked the setings to make sure the game only uses one of the cores?

To specify which cpu core NWN is using, you need to change this setting in your nwnplayer.ini
Client CPU Affinity=X
X is which core you want it to use, 0 is the first core, 1 is the second, 2 is the third, .....
I have a quad core and run nwn on the third core , thus my setting looks like this Client CPU Affinity=2

Hi and thanks for the replies. So I spent the day defragging, didnt help unfortunally.. Then I checked the CPU and it was already using the first, so I changed it to the second one, seemed to speed it up a little but it might of been my imagination, In short nothing helped yet. Additional feedback: It seems like the lag only occurs when the creatures MOVE, when I just stand around and they surround me the lag stops. Also, lol.. This is Troxa, I changed my registered e-mail and for some reason it wont send me a confirmation mail now, and I no longer have my password for the old mail adress.. So I made my Girlfriend make this account for me

This has been fixed!
For the curious and the possibility of similar problems, all I had to do was set the audio options ingame too "Miles Fast 2D Positional Audio".

I like to get it off the first (0) core since other programs tend to use that one, including the toolset.
