No, we do not apply any beta builds. Once the official build is released, we will have Dungeon Server install if on our machine.

Ok i have noticed some really shoddy performance on HG since the patch was installed. Although this isn't too uncommon lately (meaning the ping has got progressively worse since they switched to dungeonservers or whatever) , I thought i'd say something. Feel free to rip me a new one if you feel defferentyl, i don't think i am the only one who has noticed a performance drop. I am beginning to think its NOT my pc thats causing this!! *gasp*

Dungeon Serfver has nothing to do with it. When we first started hosting on DS, lag was nonexistent. As the mod has bloated to over 100 MBs in size, the lag has come along with it. There are numerous reasons for the lag, particularly the HUGE Module size, HUGE databases, and HUGE player vault. Not to mention the various problems/script errors currently inside of the module. PoA is no longer our main concern, sorry. We have bigger issues at hand. While Forsaken is doing some tweaking before we shutdown production at the end of the month, don't expect any miracles. We will do whatever we can to cut lag before the end of the month.

So none of the original enhancements that were discussed? I know everyone is excited about this new project but it seems like you are dropping the ball altogether, that seems odd for a server that is ranked number one. Just at least consider some more tweaks and improvements... things are pretty bad as far as lag, and server drops lately. Is that a patch thing? and when is HG2 scheduled to be working? I dunno, i guess its not that big of a deal to be ranked number one in some poll. I just want you guys to consider some possibilities at least until we have a viable alternative... namely HG2! I am a big fan of what you guys have done, and always will be, but that is in part to the great interaction and support from the DM base at HG. I am glad to hear that someone will be working on it, it just seems like too little for the problems that have been encountered. Well, then again, perhaps i am being hasty and i should give it more time.

Ok i just reread your post, so production is to be shut down completely at the end of the month... does that just mean no more additions or enhancements, or does that mean the server will be completely shut down?

No the server will not be shut down,it will stay up and running untill the new mod is ready to roll. A lot of the problems the server has is from the old poa base mod HG is built off of and the ONLY!!! way to fix it right and not to keep mickey mousing short term fixes is to start from scratch.

Second, there will still be new things, just not after that month unless somthing bad happens. third, being ranked #1 means ALOT to us but we arent number 1, HG2 WILL be #1. We arent just dropping HG like that, we are proud of our work and plan to go farther than before. forthly and lastly, lag will be NON-EXISTANT on HG2. We will try to perfect it in every way.

I am glad you are still patching things up, and I am glad to hear that being number one is important. I was just concerned whether the quality of HG will drop due to this new project.
