Between 5 and 6 Feb I have 'lost' a pair of Styxwalkers boots. I was using them on my staffmaster, Bolgli Stick-guru (under the Klipkap player login). I am practically convinced that I did not handle any other artifacts or Asmo gear. All my other Asmo/artifacts seems to be in place
I certainly do not want to make incursions on peoples time, but I would like to learn 'the lesson'. If it were possible by scanning whatever 'logs' might be available to find out what happened to a top-tier piece of gear I would certainly be interested to learn from the loss.
In anticipation, many thanks.

Without more specific information, searching would be completely futile - especially since many events - like simply placing them on the ground, or having them overflow out of inventory for lack of space - are simply not logged. We can retrieve lost bank chest items during server crashes specifically because we log the needed info, precisely because that's the sole source of item loss NOT due to user error, so far as we're aware. I'd like to offer more advice, but I simply don't know what your habits are, or how you might have mislaid them. I DO know that every time someone comes to me with a similar story, but involving bankchests, the 'missing' item invariably turns up in a chest they hadn't checked. You can find several recent examples of that in the lost bank items subforum, if you look.
Heck, if you give me the relevant playername/s I can quickly check your bankchests and characters to see if you have any. Past that, not much I can do.

Sometimes if you unequip an item directly into a bag it simply disappears. Happened to me once, albeit with an item that was a lot less painful to lose than an Asmo arti.

If you can provide a step-by-step way to duplicate this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Funky For your reference it happened in the Legendary Altar Room on my bard. I was unequipping an Ectoplasmic Weave. I think I remember a lag spike happening at the same time, but my memory is fuzzy because it was a long time ago. The item was most certainly lost, and wasn't just on a different page or in a different bag. I don't have time to test for reproducible conditions, unfortunately. Perhaps someone could take a lowbie and try unequipping various store-bought gear to test it out.

I think I lost a PW ring (my only one) like this, if you unequip the items directly to a full bag the item will be dropped in the ground. If you dont notice and leave the map, the item will be despawned and the servers logs cant tell what happened. Is it hard to search for a PW ring in my toons Funky? or does it require too much time? I have two accounts "jonuhey" and "Jonuhey02", I searched everywhere and I believe I lost the PW ring like that, but I could (and hope to) be wrong. Btw, when I lost it I asked if something could be done to filter the "lost: XXX" messages to the chat by some SIMtools trigger: highergroundpoa.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Thoughts&action=display&thread=19634

Many thanks for your reply, Funky, and for your constructive offer. Indeed I would appreciate a chest search for the Styxwalker boots. The Log-in name is Klipkap.
In a chest named 'Artifacts' there is currently a pair of styxwalkers which I have on temporary loan. These were a later loan from a fellow guildie and are not the pair that I am trying to find.
Once again, many thanks.
