I'm not sure what the problem is but here are some things you can try.
1) Make sure everything is updated including NWN & your graphics drivers. Get your graphics drivers from the manufacturer's site - not from Microsoft - and make sure they are made for Windows 7. 2) Try playing with the Client CPU Affinity setting in nwnplayer.ini. Some people have fixed this problem by setting it to -1, -2, or 1 3) Disable Aero theme while playing (try Windows Classic or Windows Basic) 4) Disable any real-time virus scanners while playing 5) Disable UAC in Windows and/or run nwmain.exe as Administrator 6) Disable sound to see if that has any effect.

What kind of graphics card do you have? Is it made by ATI?
Nvida GeForce 9500 GT
and if this is of any use:

Well that's good because a lot of the problems other people have had were the result of bad OpenGL drivers for ATI cards.
I would try reinstalling the drivers. You'll need to go to Control Panel->Uninstall a Program and find where it says something like "NVIDIA Graphics Driver 260.99". Uninstall that, reboot, then go to www.nvidia.com/page/drivers.html and put in your card name and it will link you to the newest drivers.
