I would prefer to keep it wis based. You can choose to sacrifice your damage in order to lose your "squishiness" that way. My dex based LT still does 100-200 damage per round with DC40, with the occasional 400-500 when enemies roll a 1. If you want to experience the full damage of the LT class I feel that, like a casting class, you should max the relevant casting stat in order to do so. LTs who only put 19 points into wisdom still do an amazing amount of guaranteed damage every round, not to mention the healing they do.

I didn't see the DC mentioned until I just tested it. Seems yeah that you do need WIS to get the great damage. I'm going to spend some time in the test chamber to try to rework my build.

I agree with Balduvard. I have been apprehensive as to what the changes might have been to the Lifethreader class. It was a pleasant surprise to find that LT's have been tempered, not nerfed. This not only allows for different builds, but forces decisions to be made based on personal play style as to what parts of a Lifethreader they will keep or sacrifice for other abilities. In other words, there won't be just one good build for this class.

First thing, I like the changes very much, since they don't totally nerf either build (DEX or CON/WIS or STR) and introduce a difference between "caster" and "dexer" lifethreaders. That was very well thought out - thanks to the team. I spent some time considering if I have to redo Atropos now (CON/WIS build) as either a DEXer or a WISer, and tested her a bit. My conclusions so far are similar to the other people here, - the damage/round in the area of effect you get at lvl 53 lifethreader isn't exactly low, and - my 1.2K hitpoints plus the healing ability allowed me to tank desert yesterday for a party pretty easily. So, I don't know yet. I was fully prepared to retire the character, but it seems I won't, for some time - as said, very well thought out! I also noticed that my healing went up from about 170 to around 200. I liked that, but I think it could be more! Regards!

Sorry I missed this before, but this update "overwrites" the weaker songs, as in pm curse and a bard curse no longer stack (as I think they did before)..but will still work with battletide and prayer? The stronger of the two (bard vs bard or bard vs pm...or pm vs pm for that matter I guess) is the one that takes, and then what can stack if anything with that (if I got that right)? Thanks!

Stacking was not affected by this update in any way. Funky

Not sure which update this came in, but I just noticed the glow that monsters affected by battletide take on. Very nice touch!

-All weapons other than kamas now grant Shield AC instead of Deflection AC. does this include gloves, darts, throwing axes, shurikens, magic staffs and ranged weapons besides shortbow? edit: forgot magic staffs
