i was asking in game about this - so you mean i can skip from normal focus to epic ? seems a bit redundant to use it at all then .. no ?

Epic weapon focus is universally taken by fighters because it adds +2 AB on top of +1 AB from regular weapon focus and qualifies you for further AB feats (legendary and paragon weapon focus).
Edit: Sorry, I should have read the first page. All the weapon focus feats stack with each other so none of them are actually redundant. Greater weapon focus is an "optional" feat that won't qualify you for anything - just give you an extra +1 AB. The reason why you can take Epic Weapon Focus without taking Greater weapon focus is primarily because Greater Weapon Focus isn't actually a standard nwn feat, it was added as part of a HG extension to give the option for tanks to take an extra +1 AB feat.

You will need Epic Weapon Focus becuase w/o it you can't take Legendary Weapon Focus which assuming you took Epic Prowess LWF is +3 AB what level is the toon currently?
Quick look if you haven't hit L40 yet I think you can drop Epic Skill Focus Taunt for Epic Weapon Focus if that is not possible then the next best option I can see would be to drop Improved Critical and shifter the Weapon Focus Feats so you get all of them. I would also just look to reincarnate when possible though if you reach level 50 before or around the time you can reincarnate it might be worth looking into upgrading to a UR subrace.

hey yojimbo - thanks for the tips - with regards UR subrace, well that will depend on what books i have available - i still need to get that one toon to lvl 50 so i can read them in the first place - I should stop fussing with these low levels toons

Sorry I didn't catch this more quickly...You do not need Greater Weapon Focus in order to take Epic Weapon Focus, and this build does not have the room for it. Not only that, but Greater Weapon Focus only grants +1 AB, while Epic Weapon Focus grants +2 and is a prerequisite for Legendary Weapon Focus, which should grant +3 with this build. Just because a weapon focus feat exists doesn't necessarily mean you have to take it, and this build reaches a very respectable AB even without Greater Weapon Focus. Also, if you're not dead-set on using a double weapon and you're willing to reincarnate or reroll, have a look at The Chopper. It gets almost everything this build does, plus the OC/DC line of feats, but uses a Large weapon (halberd or falchion) instead of a Double weapon (double scimitar), for more damage, and doesn't require the TWF line of feats. Either build, however, can be greatly improved with the right Subrace - if you get to Level 50, try to get Stinger and see if you like the appearance. If not, or you can't get Stinger, Battlerager is a good alternative that doesn't alter your appearance, tho as a Dwarf you might have trouble hitting some very large monsters. If you decide to upgrade and need help with a build for either, just ask either in this thread or in the General Build Discussion forum - I'm sure someone will be willing to help you. --Arek

I must say, this build has worked wonders for me, as my first character it has provided me a good character to explore HG with, and it's done well. It has been fun as well.
But I must ask, I did as described in the build, got the shapestrong token, went to large size, equipped weapon and shield, went back to medium. But! My character record says: Offhand weapon: Not applicable. This leads me to think I'm actually not in the process of dualwielding, and not getting the benefit of using a dualweapon. Is it just an error in the character record, or does this not actually work anymore?

Relogging, rebooting did not solve the issue.

Are you by chance using a large sized toon ? i.e. not a Gnoll...large sized toons can't use double weapons effectively.
Make sure your seeing the "character is now medium" message when you change sizes.
Have you tested your swings on a practice dummy ? Character sheet is notorious for being "wrong" (Tho I don't recall this kind of problem happening before).
When your medium and equip the double weapon without the shield do you see the offhand attacks listed on the character sheet ?

I'm using a Gnoll. The "character is now medium" message comes as it should, and when i equip the double weapon without the shield the offhand attacks are listed on the character sheet.
Now I seem to be hitting the correct 8 attacks per round (with the harper boots), even when the character sheet shows the 4 attacks and the incorrect AB (non-dualwielded AB displayed). Working as intended for all practical purposes, all is well. I suppose I should have tested it more thoroughly before pestering you guys here. At least I got smarter =) thanks for the replies, I think the relogging and/or rebooting did help in the end, I was just stuck on the character sheet.

Yeah, the NWN Character sheet is very buggy, and the high-power nature of HG exposes more of these bugs than normal. Glad you like the build. -- arek
