Fighters are starting to get a little more love, but you still don't see too many around.
When you do see them, they're almost never dex-based Maelephants splashed with Monk and Dwarven Defender.
Hence, I present: Pachydermus Wrex (would have been "Rex", but I screwed up that build and had to start over). He's a dexer who takes advantage of Monk wisdom AC and Dwarven Defender Dwarven War Axe AC. Combined with a fighter's Epic Dodge and secondary concealment, he's really tough to kill. Offense is a bit lacking, but the x3 crits on the axes help as does the warrior's whetstone. Throw in Weapon Specialization and damage peaks at/around +30.
I'm also taking advantage of the fighter bonus feats: Improved Parry, Improved KD and Improved Disarm. Hoping that 56 levels of fighter will be sufficient to beat most mobs' checks.
I get evasion from the Monk levels and defensive awareness (keep Dex bonus to AC) from the DwD levels. Oh and plenty of extra Dex using the Epic Prowess Swap after Fighter level 21. Since Maelephant is larged size, I can finesse the Dwarven War Axes for a -2 dual wield penalty. Even with the size penalty (-1), it's still better than using them as a medium toon (-3 total vs -4 total)
The level and feat progression may seem a bit wacky, but that's because I leveled it from scratch. I took the DwD and Monk levels pre-epic so I could use F18 and F20 for Epic feats. This cost me -1 AB but I got extra skills points so...meh. I played it as an axe/shield fighter until I could dual wield, at which point I took a DwD level for the shield bonus on the War Axes. This also meant I could hold off on taking Weapon Finesse (dex starts low anyway so no real hurry to take it). Not exactly sure why I waited until lvl 20 for the second DwD level (maybe to boost Listen?), but the key is getting it in no later than level 20. Save the last Monk level until 40 for skills dump in Listen, Hide and Tumble.
Very much buff dependent but will only die because of a failed save or missing immunity. Will also have trouble with str checks but a Pre Demi Str of 32 gives you a shot. Also depends on gear with Epic Skill Focus Listen to boost Listen skill to 110 max. Epic Skill Focus Hide wouldn't hurt either, but can still approach max with gear.
One Question: If I used the KD or Dis Arm book, would I still be able to use a Dex book two? I'm guessing "no" but thought I'd double check.
