The description from the book in the item shop says (my emphasis): Blackguard spellcasting follows *normal spellcasting rules*, including the ability to cast two spells per round if hasted and incurring attacks of opportunity if near enemies. Blackguards must have a *Wisdom of at least 10 + spell level to memorize a spell*. They use Wisdom to determine DCs. They receive *bonus spells from base Wisdom only*. Legendary blackguards with at least 40 base Strength may exchange Strength points for Wisdom points on a 1-for-2 basis using the PC Scry, to a maximum of 14 base Wisdom. My confusion here is that from reading this (and the succeeding paras) the number of spells per day is determined by "Wisdom of 10 + spell level" and BG class. Any bonus spells from high WIS are determined by "base Wisdom only". I will clarify this in the book. Normal spellcasting rules are that the 10+1/spell level is base ability as well, so I kind of figured it would fall under there (if you make a cleric with 11 Wisdom and put on some +wisdom gear, it won't let you cast 2nd-level spells). Actually, it means 'bonus as per having high Wisdom', so a Blackguard with the necessary 14 base Wisdom to cast 4th-level spells will receive 1 bonus 1st-level spell and 1 bonus 2nd-level spell, for a total spells per day of 4/4/3/3 at blackguard level 20. Thanks, Acaos

I also found that Contagion (Mass Vamp Touch) still works from the radial select of BG abilities, but no others AFAIK Contagion is the Blackguard 'epic' 'Call of the Grave' spell now. Acaos

So, does higher BASE wisdom add to this bonus? Like, say an 18 base?
And does equipment add to this also? Say, 30 wisdom in gear would be how many spells at BG level 20?

Higher base does. Higher total wisdom from gear/buffs does not. If you have 18 base Wisdom, you'll have 4/4/4/4 spells.

Just completed a Minarous run. not sure if you can call it more rewarding though. we got the same old stuff as before and we were hoping to find something new on Quimath which sadly we did not. the only thing we noticed was maybe an extra UR? He dropped 3 UR's but not sure if he usually dropped 3 or 2. the entire party was disapointed in the results.

Thanks Acaos (and Sabregirl for in game comments)
After most recent reset, when i use the item I see the new conversation which works fine: my low WIS means I only get a default "need to rest" dialog and after that all my (default) spells are memmed with 1 use.
Thanks.

Nothing you need to worry about, or we would've posted it to the update notes. We just consolidated the older books to run on newer scripts to save resources and tidy things up a bit. Funky

We just consolidated the older books to run on newer scripts to save resources and tidy things up a bit. not sure if that is even a bug, but several old items still drop as loot, only to be replaced with a new version as soon as they get to docks. mord ring from desert a few days ago and a mino book earlier. both were freshly looted

Mord ring should already have been fixed in chest, but I'll reupdate it. I'll get the Mino book too, thanks.

I second the statement that stoneguard is now far, far too slow. It'll be incredibly annoying to have to deactivate and reactivate it every single spawn just to be able to keep up with the party.

Originally intended for immobility. I would suggest you activate only when needed. The only reason we gave DD crit immune was that without it we were afraid the class would be defunct. They aren't exactly among the less popluar builds. Funky
