Also. Stat artifacts that do str dex or con will add the inherent bonus to your shifted forms. So its possible to push lizard form to 81 str at double demi.
Kenku is also very powerful set up like this. Has the potental of 140 ac archer with 110 ab and 17-20x4 crits. Just slap abyss weapon on and get weapon buffs. weapon buffs transfer to the arrows.
so you get arrows that do 10d6 10d6 10d6 6d6 6d6 6d6. the only annoying thing about cc ranger , blade thirst does not transfer to forms.

Also have a dragon tank stormlord. Very hard to get the 30 base wisdom and 32 base dex though. Only a few subraces work. Wow. Very interesting. Mind posting it? (I tried to make a Druid dragon tank several months ago, but losing spell slots and dealing almost no damage was sad) BTW Dragon doesn't do much melee damage, as weapon buffs don't merge. better to find one them weird oc/dc shields over wasting them stats. Try: Urge to Destroy or Sign of Orcus

I took a look at his build but quite few calculations are off.
First of all, character sheet lies. your ac will always be 2 less then it says due to be "large size" . Same thing applies to attack bonus.
Also calculations at double demi are off. with best possible outcomes (19 randomized plate , double demi, no gird, DEX artifact, 80+ craft armor, asmo cloak)
your looking at 140 ac. attack bonus starts at 101 before demi
I wouldnt bother with oc/dc item, since most of the damage from melee is going come from your str bonus and as a dragon tank, i wouldnt be smacking on critable creatures unless they was still up. For a dragon tank, that off hand is a valuable shield slot for various defenses (implode, water breathing, half kick back etc)
Limited spell slots are not an issue, 2 sets of buffs (assuming you dont die) will last you between synced party rests. Mine is designed to act as a main druid also. Aura on natures continues to work after you shift. Knowing spawn points allows you to put the aura up and make sure all the mobs are sr lowered for rest of the party.
Other notes. Best weapon for a dragon tank is abyss weapon, with one damage type missing that you can produce. Optimal would be one without sonic, and use silver dragon.
Mine is sitting at cania atm, just swamped with too much homework to play lately.
Edit: would use a con arty after demi 1, as 136 would be survivable without the dex arty.

For the melee ranger CC shifter, would a 50-52 DC be worth it, or is it better to ignore DC and go from 1200hp to 1800ish HP?

dc 50-52 would hardly get anything without somebody else energy draining the mobs.

dc 50-52 would hardly get anything without somebody else energy draining the mobs. My Risen Lord scores a lot more insta kills than my Drow form. With bard singing/cursing, I get them on 5s in LLs and 3s in higher hells planes (roughly). Having an xDD in the party helps a lot too. Otherwise, I'm holding out for 1s and 2s. I find the advantage of Risen Lord over Drow is crit immune and 1.5x damage - any instas are just added value.
