You need Str 40 for critical immunity (Tough I really want to get a few dex points. AB is a problem as well). If I splash Cleric, I lose rechargeable smite, costing a lot of turning power. Being pure allows my smite good/evil to recharge, enabling turn undead with full levels (instead of -2 level penalty)
I am thinking this with my bg turner as well: Turning is a really nice and powerful ability but is not quite as nescessary as what core classes have to offer. I am finding that in the abyss, turning isn't all that. It is nice, and some runs the high destruction dc racks up your kills but turning alone really does not make up for not being a high dps/super sturdy tank or a cleric-turner with all the bells and whistles that cleric gets. I am going to wait until mine is x5 to really draw a conclusion on that though.
I'd suggest the same for you. Get to at least x3 before coming to any conclusions. x5 would be best. Ask for greater restoration along the way. Otherwise nasties will stomp cloven-hoof shaped holes in you on your way to x5.
As a tank I paid: Bad Dexterity score: I intend is to rely on levitation. Subpar AB/Str: I had 94 at 60 with +12, missing +2 (from double-demi), +2 (from +16 gear), +1 (from paragon levels), +2 (PWF) and +1 (Str Arty) +5 (Paragon BAB) out of 107 potential. It would be better to have a 110 potential, but this seems works fine in hells. Lower Con: Well, this build have d10 dice, so Hitpoints aren't that bad with base 12 constitution (It's above 1000 at level 60). Since I wear the BG armor for extra AC and my resistances are quite good due medium armor and I'm critical immune it's not that bad.
(Edit: Fixed paragon BAB)

Right now I'm realize I need Levitation (since it's hopeless to have a really useful dexterity score for checks given my starting amount).
The turn undead has proven quite useful to control trash mobs (and sometimes even stronger mobs like Pit Fiends or Deva at Ely). I'm considering prioritizing elemental domain (since these mobs are usually don't hit types).
Between Sneak attacks, Divine Might, Morning star class weapon (Pierc+Blung) and a good Strength modifier my dps has been considerable adequate (way bellow the 2 handed fully optimized dps-tanks but still useful) after learning/crafting weapons properly. The AC with Strongheart + Dreams of the Neverborn + Deflection AC artifact goes to about 136 with guirding, which is quite appropriate for a Str tank with critical immunity and godlike saves.
To remedy the low-than-desireable AB on this build, I've just thought a good adjustment for double demi:
Delay planar turning and good domain to levels 63 and 66 (using the double demi bonus for Wisdom +4)
Move 4 leveling Points from Wisdom to Str (+3) and Charisma (+1), netting +1 AB and the possibility of Divine Inspiration later (Requirement base Cha 36)
Instead of Planar Turning, Great Strength I and Domain power (Evil) get GWF (+1 AB), Devastating Critical (moved from Paragon Levels) and Leg. Skill Focus: Persuade (Yes the +20 will help gearing A LOT)
Or keep Charisma an odd number and get an extra feat at 21 (ESF: Listen is asolid choice, if you move around a few feats).
Wearing the Visor of Cursed Chaos provides 2 benefits ESF: Persuade and Persuade +10 and area bestow curse (handy -12 SR) - (together with LSF and Bard song, that will keep Persuade at 127)
Str 14->18 +4/demi +8/lvl +4/bg +10/smite +2/Paragon +2/Artifact = Base 48 Dex 8 Con 8->10 Wis 14->16 +5/lvl +4/DD = Base 25 Int 16 Cha 15->19 +7/lvl +4/bg +4/dd +2/Paragon = Base 36
Leveling points: Cha+7 Wis+5 Str+8
Feats 15 - Toughness 21 - Great Cha I 45 - ESF: listen
