can you list which amulets you use instead Cata? Whilst I am not Cata there is one that I use on very rare occasions. It is a BUR Ygg ammy where everything randomized up (considerably) and it had Immunity Confusion added.

It is a BUR Ygg ammy where everything randomized up (considerably) and it had Immunity Confusion added. Indeed Ygrette's Evanescent Locket is VERY good with enhanced resistances for a Str tank. I like: For misc immunity: Heavenly Haunt's NecklaceFor soak: Holy Talon (Or Ranger's Medal / Dark Matter) For skills: Orudin's OathFor elemental immunity: Amulet of the PharoahYet, I still prefer Strongheart if I have that option. Taking another look at wiki again, I think that the Abyss amulets might be comparable.

I cant think of a single STR tank where i would use any amulet other than a strongheart. I even find myself swapping my rng dc item (which is a neck) OUT to put the strongheart in... it gets my ac from 136 to 139 (give or take) because that etra 3 ac at that rage is so valuable to me.
*anti flame war observation: remember, just because one might think that +3ac is the most optimal choice, doesn't mean that w/otu that 3 ac other players have no value and cannot contribute.
The value in having great ac in the current end game is not to stop a tank from taking damage (in terms of hit points). It is to stop a tank from being inflicted or facing other on-hit effects. (clearly it's better to not take damage, but usually what kills a tank is an insta-kill or damage after a huge infliction, or an immobilization).
This, actually, is less a problem with the strongheart amulet and more a problem with heavy armor and the immunity vs ac tradeoff.
And let's try to clean up this thread a bit before it needs to be locked (which I probably should have done already).

I've been playing light (strength and dex) tanks (rangers) for years now, and I definitely notice the difference between 135 AC and 139 AC (and down to 125 AC after a death). I can also include a few medium armor tanks in the 129-134 range (an old Str SD comes to mind, could hit 134 AC with girding/song).
AC matters a lot. If strongheart is wearable and puts me over 135 (and up to 139 ac) I wear it. As a light tank you definitely notice when mobs start landing a few more hits. My current Str ranger didn't have room for armor skin and with Strongheart ended up at 135 AC, when I reincarnate I will correct that and very likely keep wearing strongheart. It doesn't hurt that Strongheart has physical x/- on it, which tends to be one of the hardest things to fit into my rangers' gear.
And it's not like my tanks are lacking conceal, as the SD had epic dodge and 60%, and my rangers tend to have between 60% and 66%. Even more recently, my ranger based melee shifter I would notice big differences in tanking between shapes when AC dropped from the high 130's to the low 130's with 50% to 60% conceal. There is no doubt in my mind that tanks with less or no conceal, and/or with less AC, would definitely noticably benefit from working strongheart into their gear setup. I can think of few items that make as much a difference, the Asmo belt being another item like that.
