I tried putting in a bid on two race books on server 111 and had the following occur. the first book was Hound Archon and i tried to bid 440123123 in gold. I received the msg that my bid was successful but the bid value never increased. The second was for Juggernaut. Same bid but this time I received the msg that my bid was not high enough but the bid amount increased to what i tried to bid. I tried a second time because someone else was also browsing and figured he may have placed the bid. This time for 490123123 and received the same msg that my bid was not high enough butthe bid price changed. Is the auction bid process broken?

Further information my wallet show an amount of 440123123 held in escrow that does not match the bid listed for either item.

No, it's working as intended. Read the market board - it's an E-Bay-style system. You have the max high bid on the Hound Archon, but the price displayed is your CURRENT bid - it will only increase if someone else bids on the item.

O.K. I must be looking at the wrong market board or something. The link from the HG page to the market still lists the bid for Hound Archon at 400mil not the bid that I tried to put in of 440123123, and I still cant get a bid in on Juggernaut and it shows a bid of 490123123 that I tried to put in.
I want to bid on Juggernaut but can't get it to accept my bid.

Since I don't have the auction board in front of me to check, I believe the following to be accurate...
To place a bid on the juggernaut book, you will have to outbid the current high bidder. Since you have not yet done so, the auction updates with your attempts to indicate that more than the displayed amount must be bid.
Since you outbid on the hound archon book, you are now the high bidder, which does not update the bid amount. If someone tries to bid less than you on that book, they will be told that amount is insufficient and the auction will update to reflect the unsuccesful bid, as did the juggernaut auction with your attempts.
In short, the system will never tell you what you have to bid in order to win. You must bid only what you are willing to pay.

I want to bid on Juggernaut but can't get it to accept my bid. Hound Archon's current bid IS 400 million. Your high bid IS 440123123, but you will only pay 400 million, unless someone else bids higher, in which case you will pay what they bid plus 1 gold, unless they bid higher than you, in which case they will pay your old high bid plus 1, and be the new high bid holder. As for Juggernaut, you ARE putting bids in. Someone just has a higher max bid than the bids you're entering. The result is that the current bid goes up, but that the present high bid holder is still winning - they will just pay more as a result of your bids, unless your bid exceeds their max bid. If that's all too difficult for you to easily digest, just bid what you're able and willing to pay on the items. You'll win it, often at a lower price than what you bid, unless someone outbids you. It works almost exactly like EBay. Funky

Funny enough, this is the same way online advertising RTB works. a "2nd price +" auction.

So the market listing and the price listed in the wyrm don't show the high bid it shows the current price to be paid, the high bid could be much higher. I can see the advantage to that. When I was on before I remember people waiting in the wyrm till just before a reset to try and top the high bid just before the sale would go final. Thanks for explaining it.
