If you were to reincarnate a CC bard to another CC bard, what bard would you make him into?
(minor bias AGAINST rapier wit because you already have a toon with rapier wit and you have some sort of foolish desire to not duplicate weapons across your toons)

That desire is not foolish and I actually made mine a caster Bard w/ SP feats and 2 Pally level splash for saves and fear immunity. I might post it eventually but have other builds I should post too so yeah. My next one would be a Warchanter but I suspect you have one of them. My 3rd choice would be DEX based since most good Bard items are light armors and small shields and let it wield the mighty Sai or Wind Fire Wheel!... ok maybe other weapons are better

For caster bards, you have 3 main options.
Buffer bard, like Vulp's build, is in my opinion the. BEst way to get to 2x demi. You use epics, buff spells, and songs.
Uni bard, like Vichyas or mine, goes with large size Epics instead of huge, in order to pick up more dex/str. They are much easier to build at 2x Demi. You would play it as a frontline tank.
Third option is an offensive bard. You take one less epic to pick up spell pen feats. You cast debuffs, some offensive spells, confuse/kd/fear ect. Woodys build is a great option.
I havnt seen a dex bard in a while, they are pretty bleh afaik , and you don't want a rap wit.

I'm a fan of my Uni bard. Immunity to KD from most things even without UUU, high AC and conceal, Con arti, high parry, and crit immune means she can tank just about anything. Spell pen feats means she can land debuffs-- and despite a relatively low charisma, many still have a partial effect on a failed save. The only spell that I really miss, compared to a max charisma build, is Mind Fog. highergroundpoa.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=basebard&thread=15773&page=1

I enjoy unitank support myself but lately I have seen offensive oriented bards doing some slick damage while maintaining decent support.
If I was to reincarnate to a different type I'd probably go offense/support. Drop a bunch of str and add some cha, pick up the damage aura and go to town. Maybe even go full damage and get aoe amplify too haha.

I like the split dex/charisma bard for max possums and good AC (over 140 with girding now - caps at 142 in Echoes or 141 with Chorus). For the Enchantment paragon spell to reach the maximum radius on a gnome with 6 base str you will need 42 ending dex mod anyway.
With the introduction of paragon levels, I prefer PSK illusion for the double possums (very effective anti-limbo device) / bard army (though it's nerfed now) and either PSK conj for the time stop or PSK Enchant for the +15 GMW and sonic damage aura (leaning towards enchant).
Additionally, with the introduction of Mass Haste, I find it worthwhile to focus in LSF Trans for the three extra attacks.
Because of the new Druid Fonts and the double possums I plan to drop conjuration (Healing Spirit) for the Evocation Cloud - though I still would not drop Divination, the no-save stoning is imo worth keeping.
The caveats are Epic spell penetration (instead of LSF/PSF - really only affects Wail of Doom) and a base charisma of only 50 (down 8 points compared to conventional cha-based bard) - though I prefer the extra epic (Div), the extra skills (+4 int) and BoB over the higher charisma score using Dex or Cha arty.

Laser, thats about what I did with mine, its nice having the 3 para spells. Its worth noting that the AOE amplify paragon spell isn't implemented yet. You do still get the double UUU if you take it.
I did a slightly modified version of Paradoom's bard, posted on build forums. Basically just swapped some skills around, took armor skin instead of extra spell known (now that we have RD wand from demi store), and did 3 para spell knowns.

If you are running a support bard, you could go with rogue 40 and elf for able learner. IMHO, one of the main reasons to squish through all the gore of the dungeon crawl is for the shiny bits at the end and along the way. It is great to have someone who can find them and *pick* them up. Bard is one of the classes that can compensate to pay for the needed skills and rogue level with the least pain. It would also ensure that you are never bored on any run. Cheers,
