All 2h Weapons, including Spear and Trident, are scheduled (insert the usual time of occurrence disclaimer here) to have the Ranger AC boost removed from them as it is only supposed to work with dual wield or bows. Taking Levitation and/or Water Breathing allows more gear flexibility which can be very handy if you end up with an Anatomists ego on a ring and as previously mentioned Passwall and Fire Walking are only useful in the Elemental Planes (the exception being a very transient use for Fire Walking in one area of Pazunia).
Bothering with that change would be a waste of time until/unless 2h% gets an upward adjustment again, considering that 20% 2h damage is at best "competitive with" dual-wielding after dw/dex-friendly environmental changes anyway.
Any 2h ranger, regardless of the munchkin bswordmetalord or the medium meh spear/tridentdood, no longer has the previous advantage over a "true to intent" dw ranger, so this fix lost any practical significance.
It retains merit on a conceptual level--for the principle of making things "right," since it was certainly a thing that should never have worked the way it did...but it was never a problem until huge 2h%. With that gone, it went back to being irrelevant, just like it was before 2h%.
Hard to think of a less-meaningful use of time, honestly. If 2h% and dw remains approximately on even footing for a ranger...if anything, it could be argued that the loophole just allows for greater build diversity (and a use for those 2h weapons that people spent years collecting). True to intent or not, that seems difficult to rationalize as being worth "fixing" (unlike before when 2h midget rangers made dwers jealous, which was the only thing that made it worth "fixing" then).
