Hey guys, I've just started my first char on HG with some friends and I'm loving it so far. I'm playing a Bane Knight build from the forums here and going well at level 15. I just have a few questions I hope someone can help me with. I tried asking online tonight but nwn proceeded to crash so sorry if someone answered me and I wasn't there to hear it. I would like to know if the black guard abilities receive benefits from sorc levels as well as BG levels once the Bane Knight Quasi class is achieved? Specifically do the two BG summons from feats keep scaling up? I did find one thread here on this topic, but it really just confused me more and I can't tell if they are talking about the summons from spells of from the BG special feats. It seams the BG summons do keep scaling up to some degree, but not quite as much as a pure BG is that right? and more importantly I guess are they still useful at higher level? My second question is basically the same but for the BG spells. None of the builds I read mentioned that BG's get spells, so they are a bonus, but I would like to know if they scale up with the BK quasi class the same way the sorc spells will or will they only take into account my BG level when casting them? Specifically will the two summon spells BGs get scale up the summon they create with full BK levels, and will buff durations take into account full BK levels? If someone can answer those questions that would rock!!

A class ability or spell will improve if you take a level in that class, unless it explcitly says something else. For example if the documentation says that Called Shot DC for Rangers is "The DC is Ranger class level [...]" it means you count only Ranger class levels, i.e. no legendary levels and no paragon levels.
In general Caster Level (CL) for a class X is class levels of X plus legendary levels if your control class is X.
I assume your Bane Knight build is with Blackguard as control class. In that case your sorcerer caster level will not increase past 18 or 19 unless you cast one of the spells that is listed as a Bane Knight spell.
If you use the Blackguard summon spell it will improve up to like 21-22 (from class levels) and 20 (from legendary levels) for a total of 41-42.
The exception to that rule are the special Bane Knight spells, for which the CL is sorcerer class levels plus blackguard class levels plus legendary levels if your control class is either sorcerer or blackguard.
I'm not a summons expert but I think your caster level is too low to get the really good ones.

I will have BG as my control class yes.
So what your saying is the summons for abilities the special BG summons as it where will scale or both BG and sorc levels. But the Summons from the level 2 and 3 spells will only scale off BG levels. is that correct?
What about the sorc familiar?

Why do you think the special BG summons will scale with sorcerer levels? I could be wrong but after a quick glance at the documenation for Bane Knights I saw no summoning spell or ability there.
Let me be more clear: nothing will scale with Blackguard and Sorcerer levels unless it says so, that includes familiars, summons, and any other spell/ability that is not mentioned in the documenation for the Bane Knight quasi class.

Right ok, the thread I linked gave me the impression that some summons/abilities were working off Quasi class levels now. But as I said it was a bit confusing I couldn't follow everything being said properly.
