It happened 2 times last week and again today
I was about to visit augmenter shop on 111, just to see the server down. To me it looks like ppl are trying to shift server restart to a more US timezone friendly start
And no , I don't have any proof, neither I will call names
Regards Salek

Or plausible? I'm honestly just curious, and not being snarky or anything.. It would take three players delaying a reset 15 minutes at a time. Unless somebody is intentionally crashing the server in some way. Just seems like a lot to go through for metagaming.

I have no idea
And I'm not even sure what Salek refers to is what exactly I think I noticed
I just think it's an odd coincidence that twice recently I've seen 111 not come back up after reset and both times the reset was delayed for a long time, once for nearly 2 hours iirc
I don't know what the point of "shifting" server reset is or exactly how that's accomplished but I was just saying I did notice some very prolonged uptimes which seemed to link up with the server not restarting automatically
I have no idea how any of this works or if delaying resets somehow prevents server from restarting or what effect if any delaying resets has, but whatever's happening seems to be repeating so I'm hoping whatever the issue is can be resolved so a DM doesn't have to repeatedly do a manual reset every time it goes down

To me it looks like ppl are trying to shift server restart to a more US timezone friendly start That's a little...chauvinistic. It's more likely they're crashing it in an attempt to shorten uptimes between resests, dropping shop prices faster, and swapping out inventory. I know how it's being done, and am taking steps to address it, or will be as soon as I'm able to update. I'm a little torn between tracking down those doing it, which is possible but time-consuming, and simply fixing it. What can I say, pain makes me vindictive. ^^ More seriously, if this continues, and whether or not I bother hunting down those responsible with our user_list database, I will likely install a block on the aug market that causes it to shut down (and prices not to proc) if 111 didn't reach 12 hours of uptime last reset. All that being said, I will NOT be rushing to reset 111 when someone crashes it, in part because of the downward force shortened uptimes have on market prices. Funky

There's usually a group of low-level players doing 1-40 tags when it resets a couple hours after GMT-0 that tend to delay it usually 3 times per day from what I've seen. I've never delayed it myself, though, as it just makes it take longer to reset and get a new set of augs. The crashing from whoever definitely needs to stop though.

Yup I only meant to address what laser just described
Unless the players he refers to are alt accounts of some vets with an insidious plan I don't think they're intentionally trying to screw anything up
The 13/14hr uptimes I see can't be very helpful to the server or anyone other than those attempting to start yet more lowbie tags after reset is already in progress, which kind of irritates me

Ok I took your bait and did exactly the thing I have been telling myself to stop doing edited to correct: thanks for your interest in my thoughts and feelings but I'm afraid you misunderstood my post, which, given the context and the circumstances, I don't feel necessary to explain further have a nice day bud

Sorry, just seems like that comment is a completely unwarranted dig at vet players.......
Vets aren't the only ones with the ability to create alt accounts or the knowledge and motivation to do something like this. Regardless of whether this was done by vets or not, to tar all vets with the same brush in the way your comment did is just plain wrong and insulting. I may not like to be called a vet, but I am a long time player here and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels insulted by the insinuation.
And to be honest it isn't the first time you've made posts that come across as 'anti vet'.
I'm not looking to start a row, but, it would be nice if you thought before you typed occasionally.....

Viewed in context, I don't think there's any way Chir's comments could be construed as anti-vet. He was talking about the unlikelihood of a group of lowbie taggers deliberately screwing things up.

Perhaps I did read more into the comment than was intended, in which case I apologise, however, it just read to me like he was accusing Vets of something with nothing more than conjecture and I got annoyed by it.

I also don't think Chirality meant anything against vets. I think he was simply pointing out that new players probably don't have enough knowledge of the server to purposely delay resets/crash the server for their own gain (e.g. most of them wouldn't have access to the aug shop), therefore, unless it was vets creating alts, which is probably also unlikely, it doesn't seem like there's anything foul going on. At least, that's how I read the comment.

Yes that is what I meant, thanks Funky and sirivor for explaining, I do have a unique "way with words" after all, it sucks that I need a translator for my own native language though To clear it up, Cata also understood following my ridiculous FO rant, my apologies, he was correct that I could have used better wording to make it more clear Also back on topic, it happened again
