If you have been dreaming of a white Christmas, dream no more! Christmas in Cania comes with a guarantee of mind numbing, gama busting torrents of snow! There has never been an HC Cania win, but the recent first attempt came close. Please come out and support HG's historic HC end-game progression!

I can make it but I'll only be able to bring one character as I'll be on my laptop at my parents house.

Just a reminder that this is on for today. Please note that if holiday time constraints are an issue for anyone, we can decide on whether to park when we get to the Paean rest area, before the Pit, and complete the run tomorrow (up to a week later). This feature is there specifically to break Cania (Nessus has it as well) into two modest sessions, instead of one longer one, and we can avail ourselves of this option if desired. See you all in 5 hours!

Hurrah!. Lets finally amass a group of veteran hardcore players to defeat this long awaited journey. Hope to see as many faces in game as we can manage. I'd be happy to leave with 7 or 8, although i would not like to leave behind any taggers that have been with us since Tia and have been playing alot recently.
Thanks Enius for your constant energy put in to trying to organize us some hectic hell runs. It's been a pleasure aiding you so far.

Thank you m4l4dl3, it's really my pleasure. An outstanding mod, great people, with that omnipresent chance of sudden, bone chilling, irretrievable HC death! Cya in hell, tomorrow!

A big thank you, and a bigger congratulations to a stalwart HC crew who managed to bring down Mephistopheles for the first time, ever, tonight! One tank, no bard, and more than a couple of close calls, but the gods smiled upon us today, granting us vengeance for the countless brave HC's who paved the path of courage, that we follow, with their lives! The halls of Valhalla resound with their exuberant cheers!

Thanks KE, that thread is awesome! I was into my 4th year on HG back then, and my Thri-kreen battle cleric "Gouged-Eye Glenlivet" was just experiencing that harmonious synergistic joy of rare rings meeting party KB in the shallow hells. Limbo was our "free rest zone", for the bargain price of 1 random (but always seeming to find your best), equipped gear item. Once, I remember 3 of us mustering at the same limbo map portal, swapping back-up gear (no echoes back then), and buffing before launching our surprise counter-attack at a confused Quimath. No BUR subbies, no randomized gear, no augs, average hell-runner level... 60, now ~70. Mind you, there were no "death zones" for boss fights, and selectively pulling mobs out and into your kill zone was often key. Epic walls were solid, not just "squishy food dishes". Back then and until recently, landing NB on bosses could be a difficult, crucial, tactical dance for a druid. My first Cania win offered a clinic in persistence, and pain endurance, by Funky's druid, before Meph finally went green for us. HG sure has come a long way. A few things are still strikingly similar from that Cania thread to this run: 1) no demi count spawns to worry about, since there had never been a demi 2) 140 deaths sounds about right , and 3) What an incredible game!

2) 140 deaths sounds about right really?
