Howdy, just wanted to post here and see if anyone could help me troubleshoot this, seeing as though I'm technologically incompetent. I've been experiencing constant crashing, sometimes as often as every minute. The crashes seem to be more common when enemies spawn or when I transition, but they also happen when I'm just running through the docks. I've fooled around with various settings and nothing seems to be working. Drivers are up to date. All NWN graphics settings are as low as they can go (aside from putting the resolution at 800x600 because it just looks terrible on my wide screen monitor).
As far as system specs go I have the following:
OS: Windows 7 64bit Processor: AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Process 3.5 GHz RAM: 8 GB Graphics: NVidia GeForce GTX 660
Also, in regards to the crashes, what happens is the screen simply freezes and the program becomes unresponsive and I have to close it using Task Manager, or "Close Window" from the taskbar if I'm windowed. Sometimes it also will just crash on area transition and give me the "Neverwinter Nights has stopped working..." window.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. It's not a huge deal, but I'm sure that these technical difficulties will prevent me from getting back into Hell/Abyss runs, so I'm stuck in lowbie-land for now.
Thanks in advance, Semner

Oh, I should add as well that I'm running both nwmain.exe and nwn.exe in compatibility mode as administrator. Hope that helps!

If this is a new issue for you, and nothing else has changed, my first guess is that you have one or more corrupt files in your installation. Reinstalling will probably resolve your issues.

Well it's a new computer, but I did transfer the NeverwinterNights folder directly from my old computer to this one. Maybe something got corrupted when I did that. I think I'll go ahead and redownload NWN from GOG.com and see if that fixes it. Thanks for the help. I'll update this thread if I need further assistance.

Hrm. I did the same thing when I copied over my install. I'm guessing it may be something to do with your settings. Did you follow the instructions in the NWN forums for copying over your install? They can be found here: Win 7 Install Instructions for NWNFunky

Yeah I did pretty much that, but I think technological things like that are subject to Murphy's Law. Also, the fresh install seems to be working fine. I took my monk through Vashyk's Ruin, massed them all and had at it, trying to get it to crash and didn't manage to do so. Fingers crossed, but it seems to be running much better now. Thank you very much for the prompt assistance.
