I'm looking for a new build to try, but there are so many changes, I'm having a hard time deciding. I like caster classes, but I prefer bards and sorcerers. Having to change spells before resting is too much work, lol. I mostly like playing elves or halflings. I love being small, and the extra dex helps. I like trying something different, like a paladin with a double axe, a monk with a staff, or a Halfling battle mage with twin daggers. Not really powerful, but fun to play. I much prefer having a fun time, even if it means dying a few times.
The staffmaster quasi class sounds fun, but I am curious how well that would do as a caster. I prefer sorcerers, so maybe there is something similar to the staffmaster, but involves sorcerers.
I like playing subraces, and I love having wings or a tail, but I am not able to read any of the subrace books yet. My first character, a Lash of Hatred named Crystal, is pretty fun to play, but she is taking forever to level. I think I will be an old woman before I can read my Atomie subrace book, lol. I am saving that book for making a pure bard Halfling character.
If anyone has any suggestions for a fun build I can try, I would be really grateful.

Once you've got that Atomie book tagged to your account you could try a two handed rapier wit 32bard/3paladin/5harperscout. Would be super squishy but I imagine pretty fun to play.

Thanks guys!
I'm going to try the sorcerer build for now, since I still need 27 more levels for the Atomie book.

[p I like caster classes, but I prefer bards and sorcerers. Having to change spells before resting is too much work, lol. Then use bard, sorcerer and their quasiclasses: Pariah Bloodfiremage/Dragonstorm Mage Bane Knight Warchanter I mostly like playing elves or halflings. I love being small, and the extra dex helps. That being said, you can try Ranger or Assassin, which are good with dexterity. I like trying something different, like a paladin with a double axe, a monk with a staff, or a Halfling battle mage with twin daggers. Not really powerful, but fun to play. I much prefer having a fun time, even if it means dying a few times. There are a few underused classes and build focuses. It takes a lot of experience and resources to make something usable. The staffmaster quasi class sounds fun, but I am curious how well that would do as a caster. I prefer sorcerers, so maybe there is something similar to the staffmaster, but involves sorcerers. It won't work as a caster (too weak) I like playing subraces, and I love having wings or a tail, but I am not able to read any of the subrace books yet. My first character, a Lash of Hatred named Crystal, is pretty fun to play, but she is taking forever to level. I think I will be an old woman before I can read my Atomie subrace book, lol. I am saving that book for making a pure bard Halfling character. That quasiclass is hard to level indeed. Probably the easiest ones to level are: 1 - Sorcerer 2 - Cleric 3 - Druid 4 - Palemaster/wizard 5 - Lifethreader quasiclass The solution: join parties

For a Staffmaster kind of Sorc would be Baneknight but they are tough to build and play as there are a bit weak and limited currently. I don't know what build you are following if any for the Lash but it can be a tough one to play and learn on but a DEX Lash is usually easier and sturdier for a starter Lash.

I see you don't care for wizards much, but a fun toon for HG play is the loot-mage as well. Can solo many, many LL areas and access all chests for loot with the right gear. Very good in hells as well. Just a thought. . . By the way, if you need more ur books besides atomie, let me know.

Thank you guys, for all the help and suggestions. I do prefer to play in parties, as I do not care much for solo play. Most of the builds I make are not great for solo anyways, but they are quite fun in parties. Most of the time I have played in parties, and made a few new friends. However most people are playing high level, and it has been hard to find others who are my level, when I have only one toon. That is why I am looking for some new builds I can play, and have a fun time playing them.
My Lash of Hatred does not really follow any build. I made her, because it was suggested to me, and it sounded fun. I was to play her with a friend who has been here awhile, but has not been around much lately. My Lash has done fairly well in parties, but not so great when party members are hard to find. I made her as a strength build, so I could have dev crit. Yeah, a dev critting Halfling lol. I am planning 20 ranger, 10 blackguard, and 10 rogue. I added rogue because of some extra sneaks to go with blackguard, and improved evasion. It is probably not a very good build, but it is fun when in a party.
I did start a new sorcerer, but she is still level one, lol. I may try the Bane Knight, since it sounds fun, but I have also been thinking of a nunchuka monk.
Thank you for the offer Mister Pin. I have not really thought of any other secret subraces, but I do love brownies. I wish there was one without all the extra stats, so it would not require a hidden book, and a level 60 toon to play one. Just a suggestion, lol.
I have looked at some of the builds, and I have noticed some comments about some builds not being great until you have a demi. I have no idea what is a demi, but I am curious, lol.

I would hope that you are aware of the Rowan Guardian in town giving out experience to Level 3 for arcane casters...

Demi is short form for achieving demigod status by completing the Hells, including the final boss fight. The server keeps track of how many times you have done it, giving bonuses for each completion.

PMs whilst based on the Wizard class take some of the complications out of spells you use as they are really only effective with Necro and Illusion plus for a new player they have the huge advantage of being completely critical hit immune when you reach 20 levels of PM (and thus significantly more survivable) and getting water breathing to free up a ring slot.
With the huge ammount of skill points you'll get you can also make an effective loot mage by splashing a rogue level at 20 if you are Elf base race as you'll be able to take the Rogue skills in LL.
Trust me this kind of build can be fun especially in a few LL areas were the majority of creatures are not immune to death magic, you'll readily get invited on a lot of Ssith and Thid runs as you'll pwn most of the creatures there.

Thank you for your suggestion, though I am not sure about palemaster. I do think a lot of death magic would be fun, but there is not much else they can do. I am not sure what you mean by loot mage, but a lot of skill points is nice. I would try it, but with the tumble ac cap, I would need more dex to survive, and more dex would mean less palemaster ac. Some of the new features do sound fun though, but I'm not sure I would enjoy looking like a lich. I guess it would be ok if it was a dynamic skeleton appearance, then I could still craft my armour and helm.

Don't worry about your ac it will be fine as a PM even when wearing robes, the fact that you can't be critt'ed means that you tend not to get the massive packets of damage which go along with this that most other builds have to deal with. If you take a Rogue level at 20 and get the Open Lock, Disarm Traps and Search skills to maximum (23 iirc) the able learner ability Elves get means that you will still be able to add to these skills when you get to level 41 (albeit for an increased point cost) meaning you can get them all to the NWN engine maximum of 63. Yes the lich appearance is dynamic, Matt if you read this can you post a picture of the latest tweaks you made to your PM in terms of gear
