The concept:
I wanted to make a tank that could deal damage, withstand most mob stat checks, look cool (to me at least) and make use of the underused Graz'zt's Abyssal Helm. I'm currently in the process of leveling this up, but I've tested this in a few different ways in the test chamber. I believe it's very viable, and will be pretty darn effective in tanking and dealing relatively good amounts of damage, mainly in the form of crits but also because barbs get a little extra damage from raging. The 20% damage bonus while using a shield also makes barbs a very decent choice of melee character.
Pro's:
Thundering Rage - 5d10 self buffed sonic so you can take it off your weapons.
Mighty Rage - + con modifier damage which is pretty nice when you take into account the 40% bonus.
Pretty much unitank
Decent AC pre demi and very nice AC post demi
Good AB 100 @60 with IOF and Bard Song.
Can Disarm nicely, Disarm AB over 110 at 2x with para disarm
Using shapestrong on wemic makes it medium so that spear gives 40% dmg bonus
Saves at 62+ at 60
Sleep Immunity
Crit imm under rage
Innate Fear Imm and Disease
Con's:
Some may say Wemic is ugly (I BEG TO DIFFER!)
You rely on the BUR Helm for 16-20 x5 crits, although where they are not needed you can take this off for a bit since you already deal nice damage:P
No HS boots for awesome attacks
Spear cant go past 16-20
