Silliness aside... I'll punch a Monk 35 Fighter 4 Pal 1 no OC/DC or Harper i.e. freeing up some feats for something like improved SR feats (starts at 74 in this class breakdown) Bluntly put, that build is a poor one. Dropping good feats for sr means nerfing yourself. Change 16*100% -> 15*100%, in the ideal world of testing also those two options miss on 1s. Since all you're getting from a staff is the nwn vanilla +halfSTRmod to damage, and that is around 15 in the 60-70 str range, you could also consider just using a 1hand monk weapon + a flag. Looks silly but you're giving up quite little damage for an item slot, usually a gain. Also nowadays it's pointless trying to define ''uni'' any build. There're no decent uni tanks, if you're using demi stats to reach uni status against no-paragon enemies in hells you're lieing to yourself

Seems I missed the 1 on one of the calculations on the last line - fixed
I know that losing dps is a self nerf - even if quarterstaves have a lousy criticals and benefit less from harper. The topic is about monk builds and high SR wasn't touched so I pondered if it could reach a SR of 94 (improved SR 10) and if that would be significant (now this part isn't clear to me).
That 15 phy damage looks a lot like a Wisdom+15 for unarmed (which is bad given it occupies the glove slot) - so that's also a no. --------------------------------------------------------
This build wasn't meant to be uni at all - it is just using monk's ac (+6 due base level 30) to keep a 2 handed weapon (it was more interesting when the weapon in question had two damage types - halberd and morning star). On the other hand, a different build packing base dex 26 seems almost uni (adding demi+4 feat+4 belt+4 gear+16 paragon+2 for dex check 56) - I suppose you will mention paragon mobs with base dex 60 checks

I'd say with good saves and evasion high SR loses quite some appeal, especially compared with the sacrifices you have to make in order to get it and not just better flat stats.

Well you can't roll 1 with SR
I wonder if Kaorti Alienists ignore SR or if they have SP 74. (this is also relevant for the spell resistance spell at CL 60 and PSF abj - SR 77)

Well no, but you're giving up 10 str/dex points that are always useful to protect against something you can ignore most of time. Limbo casters are nastier but then if you build the monk super defensive you're not really much better than a bbod.
I cast SR 80 with sp arti power when buffing party, or drains/soul jar midrun, and it's quite useful. Especially because it doesn't cost you 10 feats. SP is around 70-72 afaik.

The formula is 12 + CL + Abjuration focus (So arty is an interesting idea)
Actually monk's 74 plus SR pandect would be 78 (still eight stat points seem too much for a bonus against 20% of the mobs - casters)
