Noob Questions I've looked these up and read through what I can. But I still don't understand the follwing: - The X2 or X5 etc. that people put after their char levels while chatting. What does that mean? Is it the number of times they have killed the immortal?
- Why would you reincarnate? it looks like you lose a char and just get a new one. I'm sure there must be some benefit to it. stat boost, extra skill points for the new char or something. Otherwise you would just start a new char surely. I just haven't spotted the benefits from reading the info I've found so far.
thx

1. It' the number of times they completed a full Hells cycle. Hells are composed of 9 runs of 3 maps and is recommended for level 60+ characters with a build designed with that content in mind. The first two times you beat hells you get +2 to all stats. This stat bonus enables some builds like a paladin or bg with just wisdom 10 at creation (this cheese can't be done for some other classes like battle clerics). There's a catch tough, hell tags must be done in order and the partial progression is lost upon reincarnation.
2. To fix a build or adjust/change it. You xp and tags are kept. You can also change builds significantly to some degree (there are restrictions).

Still lightly confused. the first two times you beat hells you get +2 to all stats on that char? OR it gives you + on all new chars?

Only on that char. For a total of +4 with 2 or more complete hell cycles.

Defeating Asmodeus (the last hell boss found at the end of Nessus) will grant you +2 to all stats, Str/Dex/Con/Int/Wis/Cha the first time, and another +2 the second time capping at +4. Every character you make can get these bonuses. Also, you can kill him and gain the tag up to 7x. Every demi count after x2-5x reduces the penalties on your character. In the 9 layers of hell and Abyss maps you receive numerous penalties to things such as; skills, elemental and physical immunities, AC, AB and spell DC's. So, getting 5x demi will effectively make you stronger since it reduces the effects these penalties have on you. 6x and 7x have no added bonus as far as i know, just a completionist type thing. If you didn't understand my wording go to the Hells page i linked and read under the section "Penalties".
