Mini-boss Goristro are immune to Ray of Enfeeblement. The non-mini ones can be Eradicate'd anyway. That's kinda like saying, Elite Gelugon can be eradicated anyway. Sure it can, but you most likely wont have the option to do that unless you have a high paragon level caster cleric in the party (not everyone has :3) Sorry, not very constructive, but arguments like that are kinda silly. Ah, that wasn't quite the direction I meant (FWIW I agree with your logic in this post) - as I said in the edit, my comment was a specific response to a now-deleted post and currently has no appropriate context. However, on topic - be honest, if you had toons for every class and you looted this item tonight, how much do you think YOU would equip it? (This is probably a good question to think about when suggesting items in general). Note that in the entire module there are *two* non-mini Goristro. To be blunt, I personally think that the amount of time coding this item would be greater than the total amount of time the entire HG player-base would spend seriously wearing it.

Thats another thing i wanted to ask, how long exactly does coding features like this take. I mean, for stuff like extend X spell or increase aura and so on, cant they just adapt items that they've already made that are similar to that? Or does it not work like so.
Yeah, Ray of Enfeeblement is too situational to be the standing point of an armour, i would use this if i was a new player that didnt have good/bur armour to put on.
Maybe just a buffed version of Bonds of Decay would be more useable. Up the AC, change the spell dc to +1 to enervate/energy drain/bestow curse and it's a viable choice.

Alternatively make it more universal and grant +1 dc to necromancy spells. This kind of bonus sounds pretty interesting.

Any other opinions on the updated version in the OP?
Thanks, Funky

Are opinions allowed now?
Great! In that case: this item (and ensuing discussion) is a waste of time, and has already wasted enough of your precious time reading, let alone coding it into existence.
If you're soliciting suggestions for new (not medium, since it's worthless for real casters) armors with sorc slots (the only reason I can imagine this suggestion even being taken seriously), I'll propose one that doesn't require any special DC bonuses or mechanical spell effect changes (casters have more than enough of these already, and something as simple as a medium/heavy version of fist wrap/DC robes would be enough).
I assume you are indeed open to such an item, so I'll try to find the time to write one up (or two even, since there should be a heavy BUR for pariahs and a heavy set for pariah/pm/theoretical armored sorc* comparable to Twice Cursed--which, btw, would be simply amazing for any pariah/pm if only they could wear it)
There is indeed no wealth of options for armored mages (since Anubis plate has always been a joke, set ones such as uro armors need a serious improvement/higher-tier equivalent, and medium armor such as unholy suffering does not make a perfect fit for pariah due to not being heavy plate). Of course, the fact that unholy suffering seems aimed at BK, and the fact that the abyss setloot sorc armor is only for bk, is asking for a big derail, so I'll avoid discussion other than to mention that it's quite sad and unfortunate.
*such as the theoretical builds that will become en vogue once players have the armored sorc XR subrace....of which we were told that armor-wearing sorc will be quite useful and important in the future....

Please do that. Meanwhile, please stop commenting on others' submissions, since you seem constitutionally incapable of comprehending 'constructive' criticism. Funky

Scratch the ray of enfeeblement idea, twas an underthought piece... and i now realise that it would practically be as useless as Bonds of Decay are currently. +1 DC to necromancy spells seems a fair boost.

Now it's more akin to an Plate of Anubis alternative (which isn't good enough usually). But it's better.

Add in 10% to Elemental immunities akin to Divine Chorus, and +10 lore. Plated arcanes are already a bit weak, shouldn't deliberately leave their items far behind Clerics.
Edit: weak compared to robed ones* not weak in general

How does 50% cold imm sound instead?, i think that would fit more with the theme

Well both spell and gear imm together would create 100% which is cool, however i dont see many PM's or Pariahs that run about with it For sorcs maybe * edit - read edit

*Edited Idea....
----- Wearing this item will grant the caster +1 DC to necromancy spells.
Base Item: Armour (Heavy) Weight: 50.0
Special Properties: Armour Bonus: +18 (AC Armor Modifier) Bonus Spell Slot: Sorcerer Level 6 Bonus Spell Slot: Sorcerer Level 6 Bonus Spell Slot: Sorcerer Level 7 Bonus Spell Slot: Sorcerer Level 7 Bonus Spell Slot: Sorcerer Level 8 Bonus Spell Slot: Sorcerer Level 8 Bonus Spell Slot: Sorcerer Level 8 Bonus Spell Slot: Sorcerer Level 9 Bonus Spell Slot: Sorcerer Level 9 Bonus Spell Slot: Sorcerer Level 9 Bonus Spell Slot: Wizard Level 6 Bonus Spell Slot: Wizard Level 6 Bonus Spell Slot: Wizard Level 7 Bonus Spell Slot: Wizard Level 7 Bonus Spell Slot: Wizard Level 8 Bonus Spell Slot: Wizard Level 8 Bonus Spell Slot: Wizard Level 8 Bonus Spell Slot: Wizard Level 9 Bonus Spell Slot: Wizard Level 9 Bonus Spell Slot: Wizard Level 9 Damage Immunity: Bludgeoning 30% Damage Immunity: Piercing 30% Damage Immunity: Slashing 30% Damage Immunity: Cold 50% ? (dead/cursed type creatures dont care about the cold right? :3) Damage Immunity: Negative 100% Only Usable By: Evil Only Usable By: Sorcerer Only Usable By: Wizard Immunity: Death Magic Immunity: Level Dragin Skill bonus: +10 Lore
(An alternative to...) Bonds of Decay
Still level 55-60 loot? I like the armored mage concepts (this even more because it works on pariah and some weird sorc pm or bk too) but I feel that it is really too similar to a combination of Stygian Ice and Masterwork Plate of Manus / Plate of Anubis. Those full plates already have 50% cold or high level slots (so getting this one would make them all even more outdated, being same loot level target): imo we could differentiate a bit and just give more mid level slots to this one, remove the cold imm (yes it is fitting, but it really makes other armors pale in comparison, if not good randomized ones) and for sake of diversity make it a medium armor. Added benefit, a medium armor with mid level sorc slots would be also usable in place of Scales of the Dragonborn (without making it outdated) even ignoring the bonus to necro dc.

I tend to agree that this loot is problematic as is. It's not clearly useful for the intended class, and to get it there people are suggesting ideas that may bring in balance issues that are to predict. More ideas welcome.

I see little problem if Pariah, Pm, sorcerers or BKs can use it. I would suggest removing the class restriction altogether.
OR simply give +1 necro DC to plate of anubis
